I've looked at a couple other forum posts and none other have matched mine but I was wondering if someone could help me out. Every time I lock my 2018 330i gt the alarm will go off after about a minute or so(mostly random) but only if I lock the car. If I unlock it, it won't go off. Also my unlock and lock sounds aren't going. Thanks!

Edit: forgot to mention that the problem showed up overnight. One day it's fine being locked and the next it is not

It won't go off if the car's not locked because locking the car is what arms it. Other than that I can't offer an opinion. Your dealer should be able to figure it out.

Try opening and closing the hood. Sometimes the sensor doesn't know it fully closed.

I do use an ob2 to enet to disable xdrive but it's not currently in. Last time I used it was about a week ago and the problem started happening today

Took a FEW trips to the dealer to figure mine out.

1) Ran for codes and nothing alarm related tripped. Months pass with no issue

2) Issue comes back. They replaced one of the sensors near the rearview mirror and did an update. Ended up de-initializing my windows in the process. Alarm still sporadically trips.

3) Initialized windows and haven’t had an issue since.

In closing, the motion detecting sensor was faulty and tripped randomly. It’s difficult to replicate on-call. Luckily they worked it out prior to warranty expiring. Good luck

For future reference, this is in the manual:

Avoiding unintentional alarms
The tilt alarm sensor and interior motion sensor can be switched off together, such as in
the following situations:
▷ In automatic car washes.
▷ In duplex garages.
▷ During transport on trains carrying vehicles,
at sea or on a trailer.
▷ With animals in the vehicle.

Switching off the tilt alarm sensor and interior motion sensor
Press the remote control button again within 10 seconds as soon as the vehicle
is locked. The indicator lamp lights up for approx. 2 seconds and then continues to flash.
The tilt alarm sensor and interior motion sensor are turned off, until the vehicle is locked
again.
