Standing by for someone to max out the B58 pump. Just talked to the turbo engineers over in Germany and they are all using the B58 pump on their high hp cars. I think it will do quite a bit better than 5% on the n55 pump.

On the N55 the pump is driven by the crank to a gear which drives the vacuum pump and cam for the pump, from what i understand (dont quote me) is the B58 is driven from the camshaft in the cylinder head which is also driven by a gear, but this gear is alot smaller than the gear from the N55, meaning this pump would be doing more strokes and pumping more than on a N55. So E85 might work on B58 but not on N55? Just a thought.

Has anyone tried making a 2 teeth smaller gear for the N55? This would make more RPM on the cam, the tensioner should have enough room for a slightly smaller gear.

XDI already addressed this clearly in their response.

Correct the XDI pump requires software either through MHD or BM3 to work. The B58 pump does not but in order to maximize performance you should have a tune.

yes, a map with more power for the new pump b58, but if one day I need to return to the stock map to go to the official dealer, there is no problem and with xdi if ...

lucho, are you using meth for cooling IAts mainly? It is cool to see E45 with the b58 if so....especially on a stage 3 turbo. I think some of us are wondering about the ability of the b58 to help out PS2 users....

I use (two 7 jets from BMS) 100% meth on my system.
B58 hpfp is better than oem N55 hpfp for sure.
When I got PS2 on my car I did not see hpfp drops and max out 23.5psi so I can not confirm you will see any benefit unless you are having HPFP drops at WOT.

with the stock pump?! or with b58? Okay thanks lucho.
Also, did you upgrade or re-inforce your transfer case and or differential at all since you are xdrive? All that power scares me still as I am xdrive. Thanks

there are no upgrades for the transfer case, just replacement kits .
ATC 300 case is being used in diesel xdrives too

If im not mistaken, luchocamp had the PWG turbo and if so, they are able to run more E85 mixes than the stock EWG turbo.

stock HPFP is more of a concern when pushing past 18psi in the upper RPM band around 5500 rpms.

From my understanding if you are wanting more than 20psi mid to upper rpm band, then get the XDI pump. But if you are targeting 18-20psi, the B58 should perform better than the stock HPFP.
