What's the point of your post? The point of this thread was laid out in the first post. An imaginary scenario was created where we could tell BMW representatives our list of things we'd like to see on the next 3 series. This could be useful marketing information for BMW. Of course we won't see all of the items listed, but the point of this thread is for us to put together our "wish lists" if you will.

1. 320d 2 liter diesel engine option (from the 123d). Or 330d option.
2. Diesel engine available in the wagon for US buyers. Had it been available, I would have bought the wagon, not the sedan.
3. Back up camera built in to the iDrive system.
4. Option of non-RFT's with spare tire in the trunk.
5. Euro seat interior options...alcantara/leather sport seats. My father's Jag X-type Sport had them and I absolutely loved them!
6. Vented seats (have them in my Saab 9-5 Aero..best thing ever during hot summer months)

I love my '10 335d however on all fronts....so these are all "nice to haves" not "essentials."

-biggest annoyance is the overly sensitive CA. Love the feature, but it doesn't open sometimes if you are not quite close enough. Extend the range slightly.
-never had HUD, but it seems to be a neat feature.
-DCT
-boost guage standard(keep the TT motors)
-remove weight, cars today are way too heavy(of course that is from all of the toys we like!)
-more lines of information on radio screen on cars without i Drive. Way to much scrolling with IPOD.
-335's NEED LSD!

lmao at the guy on page 2 that said TTV8, this is a 3 series.

...and to the people that want cloth seats/no LEDs, this will never happen.

1. DCT
2. Ventilated seats
3. Interior plastic quality sucks, my door handles and switches are peeling at 50K miles
4. RFTs have got to go, however the people who are saying they won't buy a BMW because of this are just ridiculous.
5. Cup holders suck, the day I bought my car someone knocked something out of one
6. Heated/memory/power steering wheel
7. Alarm and Comfort Access standard, like it is on other cars half the price

Tighten everything inside the cabin and use felt or something for noise reduction, these rattles are bullshit.

Power output has been addressed and I think they are on their way to faster, more efficient engines.

How is this a headache? Every manual transmission car I have ever driven requires the clutch to be in for the engine to start. This is also a safety feature. Imagine being able to start the car without the clutch in, but forgetting the transmission was in gear.

but how long have you been driving? surely it must be second nature to check if the car is in gear before starting??

secondly, if i need to start the car from outside, to run the engine whilst working with something in the garage.. i need to physicaly get into the car to start it..

pointless childsaftey function, that real cars never had..

this function is realy only for dibby housewives imo.

Ummm ok, most people park with their car in gear to prevent from rolling. So what if you didnt have that feature and autostarted your car from the outside??

Its not a pointless feature.

My 1979 Accord didn't require the clutch to be in for the engine to start. My wife tried to start it one time without putting the clutch in and drove right into our freezer.

8MT?? I don't think anyone wants that. DCT would only replace the automatic tranny, there would still be the option of a 6 speed, and that's what I plan on buying the next time around. However, DCT is far superior to the autotragic in my 325i.

Already taken care of on the 2009; don't know if they kept them on the 2010.

YES YES YES YES!

But I have a feeling they'll never do this because they need room for the iDrive knob and its buttons.

I'd actually like to see them keep a mechanical hand brake, I really do not like the small electronic lever that Audi and now BMW are starting to implement.

For over 14 years now, and yes it is second nature for me to realize the car is in gear. I wouldn't trust that all drivers would be aware though. Now that I think about it, I recall seeing a button on old Toyota trucks called "Clutch Start Cancel" allowing you to start the engine without the clutch if you chose to do so.

AGAIN, its my opinion , and if it were up to me , the clutch in start would be eliminated.

BMW has, in its wisdom, decided the world now needs this function ..
but for the past 40 years however, generations have been able to cope without-
