Loose parts in the engine bay, 2015 428i N20
Hi
Im new to this whole car world and need some help.. I recently found a loose cap of sorts behind the wheel well liner (driver side, left hand drive) when changing out the front turn signals in my 2015 F36 428i with the N20 motor. I have no idea what it's purpose is or where it comes from so i'm asking for your help. It's got an o-ring on the inside which leaves me to believe it's some sort of seal for something. I've had the car for about 5 months and have not yet made any engine modifications. It's not been in for any service or inspection yet ether, leading me to believe the cap has come loose some time before my purchase but I've not noticed any issues with the car. Anyways, I won't ramble on more but instead attach some pictures for you to look at. Thanks for helping the new and aspiring BMW enthusiasts! |

Look close to the firewall in the engine bay there will be what looks like a tire valve stem but bigger, that's where that cap screws onto.
