Ended up ordering a Remus catback system through x-ph. Talked to Remus today and unfortunately looks like the mid pipe is backordered, but looking forward to getting it installed when it eventually gets in. Thanks for all of your insights and opinions, they were a great help!

Most of the comments already addressed a lot of options, but here's a list of exhaust options, prices, and sound clips:

Sounds great!

Which DP are you running?

I've a BCS 100 Cell DP, centre silencer delete pipe and MP silencer.

I'll have to record a video to compare with yours.

2016 340i with Dinan mid pipes , k&n Air filter 😂everything else stock. I'm stage 1 with MHD, burbling and crackles are set OEM /STOCK in MHD settings and can't be happier, for exactly $820 (mid pipe + MHD). Compared with my friend's 340i with MPPSK (he paid $2800 for MPPSK and labor) and he prefers my setup. There's a little clip from my car (only mid pipes and MHD) mine's addictive lol 🏆☑️

Should note, driving a car without a cat on the road is a felony.

I personally would go MPSSK or Remus.

Has anyone run the stock axle back, straight mid pipe and catless downpipe? Have the catless dp but it's not loud enough. But don't want to spend the money on a full cat back exhaust, plus think it would be too loud.

I have. That was my first exhaust setup. I had the VRSF catless downpipe paired with the Dinan midpipe and the stock axle back. Sound was amazing! It was actually pretty loud. I did the labor myself and cost was only $800 ($300 DP and $500 midpipe). I just recently got a full 3" custom exhaust with a vibrant resonator and its actually quieter but in my opinion the tone is better.

Thanks for the feedback. So was it loud all the time or only with the flaps open? Right now I can't really hear anything when the flaps are closed, then just a little with flaps open. Did you do both at the same time or do first to compare sound difference?

I went by stages. I first did the VRSF downpipe with stock exhaust, then around 2 or 3 months later got the midpipe. The car overall will be louder of course, that is to be expected when straight piping the middle section, however it is not bad at all. With the flap closed it is still very quiet compared to how loud it can get when the flap opens and you step on it. It is a very nice combo for daily driving. Only downside will be the stupid loud cold start, that is the only thing that bothered me. Eventually I got rid of my cold start and it was a perfect setup. You can go check out some clips I got on my IG @340i_pa

Any drone with the flaps open in 7th or 8th while cruising? Already have the cold start delete.

No drone at all. If you are worried/picky about it I'd say go by stages with the midpipe. You could first eliminate the first resonator/mini muffler and test how that sounds, and if you want more just eliminate the second resonator.

Dinan Axle Back exhaust

I ordered a Dinan Axle-back exhaust for my 2016 340xi, I have watched videos on how to install it and I am good at working with my hands but I am nervous to install it bc if the tips are crooked at all it is going to drive me crazy, any tips on how to make sure the exhaust tips line up correctly?

EPA is in fact cracking down, and there is a non-zero chance of your car being crushed.

APR has stopped production of Stage 2 tunes and downpipes after they were bought out, for example.
It's likely other companies will follow suit, after DieselBros got owned.

Shops in Houston are putting out notices:
