No need to transfer the vibration rubber IMO.
Thank you.
I have found a place that can make the sleeve reducer (to be used in reverse).
I need to perform the exact mesurements to be sure.

Hi Guys,
I've been researching on this forum and have the opportunity of buying a coworkers slightly used 340i full exhaust (not cut at dimple). I currently have a 330i M-sport and bought the dual diffuser and want the looks of a dual exhaust. Is it possible for me to remove my current 330i exhaust at the cat and install the used 340i? Basically I'm trying to get around cutting mine at the dimple in-case I decide to trade it in, in the future. Let me know what you think.

considering the 330i and 340i use different downpipes, I don't believe the 340i exhaust will bolt up to the 330i, assuming that's what you mean when you say at the cat.

Sounds good. Probably my best bet is to cut it at the dimple but clamp it on instead of welding. That way I can change it back if I sell the car.

even then, you may need an adapter. I'm not sure if the 330 and 340 have the same size piping axle back. they may though, not sure. but yep, thats your best bet, thats what I did with my MPE very easy and reversible

Hi fupsaker,
I know your post is about a year old. But I am in the market to do very similar to what you did on your 330i. My diagram below is an example of a 340i exhaust system. I assume you replaced #1 (cat) and #6 (muffler). Did you replace the center muffler #2? Did you cut the existing muffler at the dimple? Have you experienced any issues?

I have a 2017 LCI 330i Sport Wagon. Recently installed a Supersprint cat-back dual tip exhaust, which was a much bigger PITA than expected. US cars have the B46 engine, which uses a V-band clamp to join the exhaust piping to the downpipe. Supersprint's designs are for the B48 engine, which evidently uses a slip-on connection instead. Kudos to Supersprint because they sent me a custom adapter based on some measurements, which I cut and welded onto the front-pipem

The Supersprint cat-back sounds great. I'm glad I got the resonated mid-pipe, because there's next to no drone.

Hola!

I replaced everything from #3 and backwards. Not the center muffler, as I can recall. They sound is way better imho than the original exhaust.

I just installed a 340 MPE on my 328...things to note:

340 piping is 5mm larger (its 3") so as someone said earlier you will need a sleeve to downsize to you stock piping.

My MPE axleback pipe didn't line up 100% with my existing exhaust pipe so we did have to add a slight bend to my sleeve during install.

Beyond that the tips don't center completely to the dual outlet diffuser so at the end of the install there was some slight adjustments that needed to be made to hangers and the sleeve.

All in all with some patience it worked out flawless. My original 328 MPE was louder, but the 335 MPE does give you more pops and burbles so I'm considering it a wash in terms of sounds. You do gain the symmetrical look aesthetically.

I have 18 330i and I got a 335i exhaust and pipes didn't line up correct.
I am going to assume that the 340i exhaust would be needed if want to be direct fit.
330i exhaust pipe diameter is 80 mm measured.

correct 330 to 340 would guarantee best fitment. And even though a slight pipe diameter difference, mine just bolted/clamped right on. And while you're at it go for the M performance muffler

And after you get your 340 exhaust get some M Performance cf tips.

Howzit Guys,

I have a F30 320i b48 and am considering changing the exhaust and Downpipe.

Wanted to know if you guys changed to the 340i exhaust. Are you still using the stock Downpipe and getting a better tone with it?

Just to confirm you have installed the 340i exhaust from Downpipe to rear muffler excluding the center muffler and resonator? So you guys cut the mid pipe out?

1 more thing, i had a custom exhaust for my n20 320i. Any chance the exhaust will fit on the 320i b48?

Thanks Guys,

I did a full custom exhaust system which is a Valvetronic Exhaust when the valve is open its a direct flow from the downpipe all the way till the end and when its closed it goes thru a large box and the sound is just a little louder than stock. As 330i have 2 resonators, I've replaced it with a bullet type resonator which makes the sound more solid and the outcome of it is superb!

Recently and finally we are able to remap our cars and now I Have the POPS & BANGS and its crazy!

Thanks for sharing.
I have 430i LCI and I wanted to do the same but I saw sometimes guys telling that there pipes diameter is 65mm... I need to measure mine to be sure

I would appreciate to don't use a reducer

Very agressive sound, exactly what I want for mine.
On the video, have you only replace the muffler by a 440i one ?
If yes, I will do for sure
