Is this considered straight pipe?
Hi Fam,
I want to true sound of the F30, so this is what I am planning: Cut out the 2nd CAT and the Muffler, keep the resonator and install a dual wide pipe. Questions: Would this pass smog and be under proper emissions? & is this considered a straight pipe even though you are keeping the resonator? |

If you have any cats it's not a straight pipe. Not sure if it would pass smog, though it might if you keep the first cat. What you're doing is basically a muffler delete.

Gotcha, I want noise, but not too loud/aggressive where I could possibly get pulled over for it. CA/LA-OC isn't that nice with downpipes.

You might eventually feel it's too loud after the wow factor wears off...

UPDATE: I went to a shop and they gave me some awesome feedback. I kept both CATS and the resonator, all we did is deleted the "suitecase" muffler and.... wow! It made such a difference! Even my little N20 turbo spool got louder lol
