I absolutely love Rheingold now that I got it working on my laptop, it has helped me with figuring out the problems I was having with my Park Assist retrofit. I wish mine were a simple sensor replacement, instead every so often I get both PDC and Park Assist malfunctions, and the code I'm getting is an "Ultrasonic Sensor: Short Circuit to B+ positive" error, but it isn't kind enough to tell me which sensor has the error. Instead, my test plan in Rheingold is that I have to remove both bumpers and go sensor by sensor through all 10, removing each one and running the test to see if it detects the fault when a particular sensor is removed, then reconnecting it and moving on to the next one.
Hi Roxxor, I have the same ista error but ista say the problem is front left pma sensor with Short Circuit to positive error. How did you solve the problem? Thanks.

Make sure the connection is good in the rem. If so maybe the sensor is bad?

U can try switching sensors and see if it gives same error or if the error follows that sensor.

Hi all,

Weird request, but if I wanted to code out front is the process the same but in reverse? So instead of 508 code to 507?
Reason being I’ve got an issue with my front sensors and it’s annoying that the rears stop working. So would like atleast the rears working until i sort out the fronts. Any help is appreciated

Would i also have to recode all ECU’s or just REM?
I’ve done quite a bit of FDL coding and just wondering if that’ll reset all back to default so I have to do it all again?

Yes, after changing from 508 to 507 you have to code the REM and ICM.
And yes, if you code these ecus all FDL codings in REM and ICM will be overwritten.

Thanks once again!
Will the Hu_EntryNav also need reocoding or just REM and ICM?

I'm not sure, but maybe.
In 2.5 hours, I can tell you exactly which ecus have to be coded.
And then i also tell you the solution to keep your FDL codings.

OK, here we are.

If you change from 508 to 507 you have to code the REM, ICM and HU_EntryNav.
If you want to keep your FDL codings you should not code the appropriate ecu.
You then can FDL code this ecu.
On the picture you see the FDL codings for 507 and 508, so you can change the values manually.

So I changed 508 to 507
Followed the correct procedure to save ect

The moved onto coding ICM, REM and Hu_Entrynav

ICM and Hu_Entrynav coded successfully however REM brings up an error when trying to code, error displayed:
“File for “cafd_000007a1-005_005_044_016” not found [C012]”

Any idea?

Mark the REM and then „detect caf for swe“.
Choose the CAFD with the highest numbers and then „code“.

Im struggling to locate: “detect caf for swe”
I’ve right clicked on REM but only options showing are: code, read coding data, expand and collapse

Did you mark the REM (the yellow folder)?
Which E-Sys version do you use?

Yes marked the folder. Using v3.28.1 but have just read online that 3.27.1 is better to use so have just installed that but detect caf option is still greyed out?

Yes, i thought you are using 3.28.
Here you can download 3.27

Edit:
OK, just read you have already installed 3.27

Did you activate the VO (FA)?

Option has now become active after I restarted laptop and re-opend the application. Chose the highest file (most bottom/last one)
successfully coded REM

But rear sensors still do not work. I have walked around the rear putting my ear to each of the 4 sensors and all 4 all clicking indicating that they are functional.
Display on screen no longer shows the front but rear shows a triangle with exclamation mark.

Prior to this when I plugged in a code reader tool. All errors for pdc were in regards to the front sensors only.

Any ideas?

Coded all 3, (REM, ICM, HU_EntryNav)
Thought I’d FDL code my options back into Hu_Entry afterwards
