Does it take long to get into Carplay when you just got into the car and start the engine? |

The maneuvering with the wheel control is slightly different from the iDrive menu's but i guess after a couple of days it's okay. The system boots up with iDrive ON and then when the phone connects BT and WiFi it shifts automatically to CarPlay, it takes under 5 secs. |

Also asked this in the UK thread, sorry for repeat. For the people that have installed so far, do you all have the NBT head unit? It seems like with NBT there is no way to fit it under/behind the head-unit. I have entrynav though and I have heard that the head unit is smaller and there might be room under it?

There is no space behind or under but plenty of space between the glove box and the head unit. You will need to remove the glove box for easier access. |

I found useful to place it below the nbt so I can access the carplay unit without tearing down the dashboard (to update its firmware, for example). The piece that covers it is easily removable without any screwdriver. |

I am wondering if the NBT Wireless CarPlay option from Joyeauto is the same:

Ok.. I got it installed, and for the most part everything works. I only have 2 issues so far. For those few folks who have installed it, do you have these issues?
1. The screen seems vertically stretched a bit. All the icons are slightly rectangular. Not much, and probably not noticeable unless you're looking for it. 2. When holding down the talk button on the steering wheel to activate Siri, I say a command to send a message and then it fails and closes out of the Siri window. See the videos in the links below to see what I mean. https://agdmail-my.sharepoint.com/:v...c0xsw?e=RjlxRI https://agdmail-my.sharepoint.com/:v...oxehA?e=NqBug8 https://agdmail-my.sharepoint.com/:v...yR82g?e=bfsCaB

I'm assuming you are using the Carplay mic. Were you able to try the method to make calls using OEM mic? |

Yeah I have the same problem with the steering wheel button. What happens if you say Hey Siri without a button or pressing the Idrive menu button Remember you need SIRI to say " how can I help you first" which I don't see that happening |

On the other note, are your icons slightly elongated like in my pic below.

I tried Hey Siri and it seemed to work. I then tried holding down the steering wheel button again, and this time it worked. Seems to be hit and miss maybe. I just emailed their support so will post back what they tell me.
Also, their videos they have on YouTube seem to show the same elongated icons.

I was wondering if you guys build in the CarPlay unit yourself or went to a shop to let someone do it for you. I haven't had the time yet to do it and I'm in doubt to do it myself.
