Basic load logging is messed up in BM3. Load Act is a percentage of maximum load limit and Load Target is actual load. Nominal filling (can be selected in other logging parameters) is the real target load.

To get adequate measures of load simple and fast, select corresponding parameters in the RAM tab in BM3 logging section.

That's my set of parameters that I log time to time (stock tune): https://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=5e72...0b43508e6f84ef

This is a PSA to everyone on BM3. Also move your ignition timing/correction channels to RAM. Pretty much the only things I left on the default channels are for boost, fuel pressure, and lambda.

Wondering if someone could have a look on my datalogs. I got a '17 340i xdrive with MPPSK

I get the knock detected (1) value with the stage 1 91 or 93 tunes. I have not changed my plugs/coils or gapped them (45.000 km on the clock). My tuner told the OTS maps are safe without chaging plugs or gapping them.

So I ran a log with the stock tune but still the knock gets detected.
Now I'm wondered if something wrong with my plugs in the beginning or is this normal behavior for my car? My tuner told me to try different types of gas but that did not help.

Log with stock stune

Log with stage 1 91

Log with stage 1 93
https://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=5e70...0b43508e6f7477

Ofcourse for each log was the right fuel used.

The logs look good and you have nothing to worry about.

The Stage 1 93 where you held 100% accelerator 2nd, 3rd and 4th you only had a single knock count in 2nd gear at low RPM.

At 6400 RPM in 4th you've got perfect 12 degrees of timing across all cylinders at 15.8 PSI and an AFR of 12.6 which is nice.

You should try Stage 2 93 now Enjoy

Thanks! Much appreciated.

I do expect some minor rough idling on the OTS maps compared to the stock tune. But my G12 m760li got a much rougher idle than my 340i stock... so I don't really think that's a big issue. So why would people use colder plugs or gap the original then, because it's maximum optimized to get more power out of the engine?

Yeah, I would like to get stage 2 someday. My only worry is that it's a little bit too loud hehe.

I run Stage 2 flash tune with stock down pipe and exhaust fine. Have done for nearly a year now. Still nice and quiet, just very quick as well.

You should put in a new set of NGK 94201 spark plugs. 45.000km is quite a lot for plugs. I changed mine at 42,000km.

^^ Man, I still don't know how you trapped 121 on an OTS E30 map on stock DP. That's impressive.

It was the MHD Stage 2 95 octane/102 RON OTS map but using 93 blended with E85. The E85 I get is United brand here and uses 93 octane as base fuel. Overall I get an octane rating of about 95.4

The 95 octane map has higher Torque/Load target, so higher boost than the E30 map. I'm not sure why my HPFP is hanging in there, maybe because of the 93 base fuel, or just because I've run E30 for 6 months plus and it's adapted?

opposite. only does it when the engine is already warm. normally the first start in the morning won't do it, but it will starting the car after a drive.

Question on tuning

Just purchased the bootmod3 stage 1 93 tune on my b58.
Does anyone know if you can configure the other sport modes (sport+, sport individual)?

I adjusted the burbles for sport mode, but when I put the car in sport+ it doesn't seem to make as much noise.

Was curious to know if there's a way to adjust the sets for the different types of sport modes the car has.
