The latter. Nothing about the BMW head to amp interfacing is the least bit generic, so there are no generic replacement options. If there were you could spend 1/2 to 1/3 for the same or better results. For instance this:

Ok thanks. But since it's not a 7 channel am I gonna lose the center speaker? Or I heard some ppl say it's actually better to do so for some reason. Thanks.

You'll need not only a separate DSP but also a harness to get the signal from the head into the DSP and from the amp to the speakers. It's not plug and play.

Correct... a center speaker is only effective if there is a DSP with dedicated center speaker tune. This is just a OEM amp swap for another amp without DSP.

Try the JL without a DSP first and then decide if a separate DSP is for you.

I´m actually thinking on pulling the trigger on the Match UP 7BMW.
Did you guys notice that Bavsound is releasing the same amp in February under the name of "Revenant"?

My only problem is that my F33 came with BASE stereo (no amp, no center speaker, and crappy sound) and can't seem to find any installation guide for an amp in that kind of system.

¿Can anyone please let me know what kind of wiring/harnesses should I be getting in order to install this amp? (I'm gonna have professional help, just want to make sure I buy the right connections)

Not a bad deal - if not satisfied. They'll take unit back and issue refund up to 3 months post purchase.

I just purchased a new Match UP 7BMW unit (with 30 day money back) from a seller on eBay. I made a low offer @700USD (lower than what was posted @850USD including expedited shipping) which was accepted, so happy with the purchase. Delivery should be in the next week, so let's see.
I am not planning to change speakers for now.

2 undersea woofers
2 front door mids, 2 front door tweeters
2 rear door mids
2 rear pillar mids (somewhere hidden near the pillars in the rear of the car)
And on front central mid

So is the 7 channel amp working with this setup?
