I have also a CIC Andream 7.1 version , i`m not very happy with it. Google maps are very slow and some time it stops working , waze auto closes after a few minutes, GPS signal is not very accurate even if the antena is on the dash near the window (with google maps at highway junctions it goes all over the place ) . I kind of solved a bit the gps signal problem with gps status & tool box app , after downloading AGPS package.I had the impression that AGPS information is downloading automatically in newer version of android ... (also the app is saying that the gps unit does not have a compass)

I cannot change car type in factory setting is saying is missing the xml file.

The screen is dimming like crazy when the headlights are on auto.

After 2 hour drive it happened that the screen went black showing no signal in the android part ...

One of the few good things is that the back-up screen is shown dynamic parking lines when i move the steering wheel ( i had factory parking sensors), i dint know that and i ordered a backup camera with dynamic lines built in with gyroscope ... ( dint arrive yet but i guess will be to annoying to have 2 types of backup lines so i guess i have to order now a backup camera without lines...)

My version is from 18 september 7.1.1 , i messaged the seller if it has some mcu and android update from manufacturer but i`m not very hopeful it will reply .

For those whom missing in recent versions in Advanced settings EVO NEW, EVO ID6, Benz and JLR -> in the Factory.xml file, change the <client>xxxx</client> line to <client>high-grade</client>, copy the file to the OEM directory on the USB drive and upload it in the Factory setup. And you have full menus...

In my opinion 245 for a motherboard is too much .
A new 7.1 unit costs 350 - 400 ? Somewhere in between .
245 for a motherboard you cannot call it a great deal !!!

yes i tried this file also.

Have you installed the latest 05-01-2019 firmware in your device ?
And if yes have you instaled it prior upgrading the MCU?
I am asking this because the latest firmware is from AVIN and i am wondering if the have locked somehow the MCU upgrade process to only their files.

Absolutely agree with you and I am in (slow) contact with Louie about it. He quoted me a very different price in December...
Let's see what we can do... I do want the upgrade but not at the price of almost a complete unit...

The only time I managed to upgrade MCU was just after I upgraded from an September I think firmware to 05-01-2019 and because I was experimenting by changing usb sticks, sd cards etc. it was updated with a wrong kinda old MCU! After that I cannot update no matter what even when I downgraded to previous firmware and then reupgrade again. I ve posted before about that and I follow daily this thread hoping that someone finds a magic solution.

I told him that a reasonable price should be 100-120 USD. Maybe he will reconsider the initial quote...

To be honest, when someone quotes 245 en later can deliver at 120... not the way I normally do business...

I'm running the latest box and Autokit version like you guys BUT have held off doing an Android upgrade to the 28/11/2018 version so I'm still on 28/08/2018. My radio ccc android 7.1 has been shutting down for a few days. Stripes appear or appear black on the screen. I tried different versions of android, it does not give anything. Most often this happens when I use the navi expert application, it looks like if the device heats up then it turns off. Does anyone have a way to do it? Aren't you using a GPS antenna splitter?
If yes, remove it and use the one that came with the box.

I use the antenna that was together with the android radio. It is mounted above the meter, under the cockpit.

Google map usually works. Yesterday I traveled 200 km, the radio on navi expert turned on, after 30 minutes it turned off. When I pressed the reset, it was already a black screen. It was only this morning that it started working again.
