I got my 4 modules from getbmwparts. They're my primary supplier for OEM parts. I check against ECS but most of the time getbmwparts has been cheaper.

In your picture of the two LED modules opened up, is the bottom one the new version? Just from the picture it would appear the only difference between the two is that they lowered the resistor values for each LED, thus increasing the current through each. This would increase the brightness some, if the LEDs weren't being driven to their max mcd rating already.

It's nothing game changing but it's apparent. At least on my Coral Red leather interior.

You all got me thinking so i just went and checked mine and with the Idrive and on the speedo set to max and with the orange light it looks ok. I have black interior. My car is a week old LCI 335

Got my modules today. did the change, its morning, cant see any difference now. Will take a picture later at night and post it.
I noticed the following, the module dont sit very well at the housing. When i hold the module close the holder, its slightly brighter. I dont know the workaround for it. While holding the module Not holding the module Last edited by bmbk; 01-01-2016 at 04:54 AM.. |

Hi guys, I installed the new LED module here are the photos after I installed.
But I broke the light bar in driver side, it affects the brightness of the new module. do you guys have any solution with the broken glass (I mean the light bar!). Last edited by danielmok39; 01-01-2016 at 05:09 AM.. |

ok, updates.
There are some improvement. at night its brighter. But there is a catch. On my door, i installed this white leather lining as the light is very dim, so with the low light output, when it falls on the white surface, it got reflected. So after the light mod, its even brighter now. Thats for sure. But what ever falls on the dark surface, i think there are no difference. See pics below for details. |
