Had mines since Christmas and its scrapes a few times it depends. Its taking a little beating lately because of the snow and the potholes but I check it most of the time and its still pretty solid. Was at the mall last night getting looks, thumbs up and that's all it matters.

Just replaced my front lip today...

Before tossing the old lip, thought i'd show you about 6 months worth of scrapes, bumps, and other maladies from my F30's lip riding 2.5" off the ground. If my lip wasn't cracked (unrelated incident), i probably would have kept it a little longer. Its definitely taken a beating, the mounting screw is worn almost down to nothing...

Wish there was an inexpensive front spoiler for the 4 series since its bound to get banged up like the above photo.

Yeah that's a little bit unsettling :/ I might just go without the lip. It's so costly too

That's one beat up lip!

Am afraid to scratch mine now cos had it replaced once under warranty and boy was that painful.

It took 3 goes and one brand new front bumper before it looked anywhere near when I picked up the car on delivery. The dealer did a piss poor job but in the end they pulled out all the stops to get it right.

Just throw a clear bra on it that covers underneath. That's what I'll be doing.

I did that on my Audi front spoiler which is great fit chips and dings. Doubt a clear bra will protect against the kinds of scraps people are talking about. In fact, the clear bra still probably get ripped off or shredded.

These lips have come down to a ridiculous price point where they are almost disposable. This one has perfect OEM fitment and look, and i paid $150. I've seen them as low as $100.

I liken it to women and their stilletto's ... on the one hand they can complain how painful it can be to wear them, and how hard it is on their back when they do, and they surely have the option to wear their low pumps or sandals, but man, when they are ready to head out to Vegas or for a night of clubbing, what are ya gonna do ...

Haha that is so true
Unfortunately all the ones for the F32 seem to still be a bit pricier

The lip is 2.5" off the ground.

Since then, the price on these things have gotten down to $100 (a little more for exact OEM shape, look, and fitment, but not much more than that). Mine just arrived last night and i'll be installing it this weekend.

I almost look at it as being a disposable part now But like Bryan said, its too good looking to not have it on... just take it out of your BMW maintenance fund

are you on stock suspension?

I'm lowered on H&R springs, and I scrape a lot with genuine lip.

You get over it...

I pull mine off in winter because here in Minneapolis we get a tad bit of snow regularly. But during the time its on I have only touch the bottom of it two or three times on the ground on extreme inclines and I am 3.5" of ground clearance so not sure how others are hitting theirs at stock height or a typical spring drop. Like SB said, I look at this part as a disposable item now. I have a spare just to keep handy :-)

My lip IS the bra it protects the bumper, which is the real costly part

Ha! I have my car now. I just got my clear bra on last night, and it covers under the lip. The thing is a lot lower than my 4. I see how I might rip this thing off, but it looks so good!

It looks exceptionally good on yours. I couldn't handle the pressure of tearing it apart or the cost of replacing it down the road when it becomes worn out. I decided to just remove the bottom lip portion and kept the splitters on.

I am scared I am going to rip it off too, and thought about doing the same. Would you mind posting a pic of yours so I could see what it looks like if I go down that road?

Much appreciated!

I can't wait to put mine back on. I hate the way the car looks without it. We have not gotten much snow, but as soon as I put it on, I bet we will have a ton.

Yeah, my only concern is fit and installation. I have heard some comments about these after market ones being a bit difficult to get to fit and align right. Plus I plan to paint it so I dont need CF. Maybe if I wait long enough the prices will keep dropping....
