Any luck with the dealer on this? My car is nearly a year old now and never had an OTA update, have pro nav etc etc. I had the same response from BMW CS who are as useful as a condom machine in the Vatican, then when I made it clear I should get OTA updates both them and the dealer are 'looking into it'. I've given up all hope now, just curious why it works for some and not others

thanks for the updates! I will have a go today to see what is available for mine (edition is EntryNav).
needless to say that huge turn-down is the missing safety cameras alerts, something that you can find in other manufacturers like renault and volvo

Although not integrated, I have CameraAlert running on my phone which I run when in unfamiliar territory. There's no need for any visuals - just turn up the phone's volume. I got lifetime membership years ago by submitting a camera site.

Or you could run Waze on your phone with no set route.

BMW CS have raised it with Technical. Not holding my breath....

thanks for the advise! I already use tom tom speed camera radar in my android, similarly as you describe. I will keep in mind your app too.
but in reality we shouldn't really go this way when we need to have camera alerts.

Just installed the 2018-01 maps update in mine. I am wondering why other guys get 3rd or 4th edition of the year and I got the 1st.
Is it because it was the first update of my car's map for the 2018?

On the map screen press the option button, then scroll down to navigation version.

Thanks teaston, ive just checked and im still on europe evo 2016.1 , spoke to dealers this morning and there wanting £70 labour charges to install latest maps, although it states free map updates till June 2019 , does that sound right.

What an absolute ball ache 😖 to get these onto my car - logged into connected drive downloaded the available maps
Plugged in the previous 64gb stick I used formatted it and wham connected drive can't read it because it's formatted to exfat and not fat32

Reading other people's solutions I left it as exfat and manually unzipped the files to it and plugged it into the car - and not even a blink car refused to read it.

Finally had to format the drive using a third party application to fat32 and bmw download manager is currently unzipping the files to it ... just got to see if the car will read it.

Why can't BMW make the files fit onto a 32gb stick why go over by just a bit to cause this much hassle!
