Climate control display question.
Hi!
No matter how many times I toggle through via the setting button, it only displays 2/3 vent bars( see picture) in comparison to the drivers side's 3/3. I recently traded in my E82 for this slightly used F30 so I'm not sure to believe the dealer's explanation when I was told it's supposed to be like that, seeing that the drivers side display is the master ventilation control and it's meant to only show 2 bars on the passenger side. : Could someone please let me know if you get 3 bars on your passenger side display? Thanks! |

The top bar on the driver’s side would be for the windshield defroster. There would be no reason to have a passenger control for that.

BMWs have done that more often than not. My dad's 7 series all had it that way as well. Here's an example from the e38

I don't understand that either.
What bugs me though. Is the windscreen blower always defaults to off. So I have to cycle through the settings to turn it on everytime I start the car in cold weather. I have coded the HVAC to remember last setting. But is there anyway I can code the fan to remember last setting? |

Same in use auto. I use the defrost button first in the morning though. only annoying thing for me is that left and right temp don't sync.

It's cheaper because bmw only need to make two different ones. If they make one for 2 bars and one for 4 bars then they need 4 different buttons in total. Don't forget RHD vs LHD model.

I thought it was to do with passenger seat sensor when there is no occupant. Just like if there is no occupant the passenger seat belt extender does not activate.
Does it work if there is an occupant in the passenger seat? |
