EDIT: Random additional question, does anyone else still see a 201101 DME tamper code?
Halim said he will update all the OTS maps before the week ends

I will revert regarding the DME tamper code tomorrow.

Cool

Yep still getting DME tamper code too.

And absolutely no burbles, but that's not a big point, not looking forward to being pulled over by police.

The perfect solution for burbles is to get a valvetronic exhaust.. If you see the police go into the silent mode and no burbles

Odd, I get lots and lots of burbles. And they can be quite loud given my exhaust setup. I think if it weren't for the hybrid motor my neighbors would have killed me by now.

Must be a difference btw EWG and PWG I guess, i'm not looking for anything loud (no gunshots!), just nice crackle like M2 stock would be fine, but it's really absolutely zero in my case.

EDIT: we want video

V2 map is mostly fine so far on my side, having a bit of fun with sideways action thanks to the increased torque
Still feels a bit hesitant at very slow speed sometimes (when you let the car roll forward in D mode with zero throttle)

To be confirmed but it also seems to have got rid of half-throttle hesitations I had with previous version, where there would be micro-traction cuts at 3-5k rpm, though full throttle seemed fine, could have sth to do with the gearbox torque limit that was removed.

That hard limp mode happened to me once with the V1 map, totally unexpectedly, and indeed you must have some place to pull over otherwise can be a saftey risk, wouldn't like this to happen in a tunnel, on a bridge, or any kind of dense traffic. I found myself flashing back to stock+online recode on the side of the road, not an easy moment.

It does go away when you flash back to stock and lock at least.

Could it be the difference between 91 and 93OCT ? I was only running 93OCT so far as I have access to "racing" gas on regular gas stations.

I had to revert back to stock as I don't trust the car to not fail when I want to push it a bit ( 3 hard limp modes with 60-70% throttle).

Also, it did not happen with the v1 map in the summer - maybe it's the cold weather now ?

I've flashed the v4 today and going back to stock tonight.
The torque limit exceeded seems to be fixed, but idle RPM is all over the place, jumping up 100-200 and accelerating by itself when in gear (!) from 1200 to easily 1400-1500 rpm. Car is all jerky and driving it is a pain (gentle steering in a narrow carpark almost impossible).
When I turned on the sport dials, the torque seems to be right around the 50 mark when idle.

That was also a problem way back at the beginning of AH3+BM3. Sounds like someone reverted to an old map or something, these were problems that I already solved with them over a year ago (almost two years now).

My "maximum total torque exceeded" ticket was opened 11/Apr/17 and the driving itself thing was included in that ticket and reported 12/Apr/17. All of it fixed by 17/Apr/17. I wonder who did what to bring all these issues back.

Alright, flashed V4 took a 20 minute drive to lunch and 20 minute back. Had some minor stumbles immediately after the flash, but that's pretty normal in my experience. It went away after a minute or two of slow driving. No unintended acceleration that I could tell.

The first 20 minute drive was SOLID. Car felt great, felt like it had tons of power. The Sport gauges show me hitting 560+ ft. lb of torque and around 340HP when I'm at like 60% throttle which is were the max torque error was coming form before. Not sure if that's actually true, but it looks nasty and feels great.

On the 20 minute drive back, I hit some fuel system issues. 481B01 Fuel Pump motor voltage too low. To be clear, THIS IS UNRELATED TO THE TUNE ITSELF. This is a common issue in these cars, the EKP overheats. Mine is an EKPM2 and the recommendation I am seeing is to replace it with an EKPM3 which I now get to research.

I searched for the term EKP (which includes EKPM2 and EKPM3) and only 6 threads, including this one, have it even as a passing issue.

Are you saying this is common?

Talked with the Fuel-It guys to make sure it wasn't the LPFP and they said:

Sounds like a classic EKP overheat. You'll want to replace it with an EKPM3.
And also

Direct swap, you can try a used one for cheap off of ebay and then you don't even have to code it.
So I spent $30 on a decent looking eBay one and we'll see what we get. I'm gonna be away from the car for almost two weeks starting this weekend, so I can wait for it to show up.

I found a few threads on N54Tech about it (most notably this one: https://www.n54tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=39023). It seems the upgraded LPFP pulls more current and overheats the fuel pump control module. Guess I'll find out for sure when I get back.

Hmmm. The only other person on forum to mention issue PabloK says the told him update to a stage 3 LPFP. He did and never mentions an issue again. His was on a 335i, btw, not AH3

https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1478682

I guess $30 is clearly cheaper than $900 though.

You have a link to eBay device?

Dunno, but yeah I'm gonna try the $50 solution first. If it doesn't work, oh well. I grabbed this one, but if you search eBay for "EKPM3" you'll see a few dozen of them:

Do you have a 2014? Does that already have an EKPM3? The part number on RealOEM for my car says up to 10/2013 and is then superseded by another part number.

Well, I just went out to the car and pulled off the passenger side rear bolster, and to throw a wrench in everything my module is labeled EKPM3 with part number 16147301554. Now, that PN has been superseded four times, so maybe it is just an old bad one. Welp, back to the drawing board I suppose. Still gonna try that $50 and see what we get.

The link to eBay one says 2014-2015, yet that number appears to be an E9x version. So very confusing.

Looks like a new 16147411596 would be most logical.

Actually wonder if one of the newer B58 models would work.

Yeah, after looking at my module and PN, I'm gonna cancel that one and look for a 16147411596.
