F30 budget speaker upgrade
First thing this is my very fist post on anything.
Im not responsible if u F*** up. also if ure not ready to cut ure OE speakers up stop here.. So i was tired of my speakers making this rattle and im in a budget cant spend 600+for speakers. i will be buying better speakers latter on for now i got boss 4 inch speakers all around. so lets start u need to take off the panels but i wont add it on here since there are a lot of post about that. i know there are adapters that u can buy but again budget 80 plus ship not goin to happen sorry. U need: safety glasses make sure u got some u dont want this S*** in ure eyes. Gloves Dremel with a cut off disks A grinding stone or u can use a router bit take off ure OE speaker use the dremel with cut off wheel to cut the blue lines take off the cone off the speaker and center that u cut out ure left with this now change ure bit out for a grinding or router bit grind around the center till ure new speaker fits. now that it fits ure going to attache it with black screws and speed clips that come with most new speakers u need to dremel out some tab pcs and cut off the extra screw that is sticking out shown here Now that its on there make a cut out where the speaker wire is going to go i just made it close the the speaker connection. blue line sorry i lost the original picture but u get the idea. all done now its up to you how u hook it up u can splice or get the wire adapter. Then install ure door panel back done. this is with the mesh grill off so u can see the fit. grill does fit no problems hope this helps the big spenders like me. also they do not hit the rear glass or front just in case u want to ask. i have had this set up for over a month now 0 issues or problems and no rattle. these are the specs on the speakers model # BE423 WOOFER SIZE 4" MIDRANGE SIZE 1.25" TWEETER SIZE 0.5" MOUNTING DEPTH 1.75" MOUNTING DIAMETER 3.67" Let me know what u guys think. I know there are better ways to hold the speakers but yeah. |

“You” did all of that to fix a rattle? Where was “your” rattle, in the speaker itself?

If the driver was blown it would rattle, but that's not an indicator of the driver being of poor quality. To the contrary, the OEM drivers are actually quite good.
