what are the inside projectors for?

Ok this is probably a dumb question, but I have no idea what the inside projectors (the ones closest to the kidney grilles) are for. I cant get them to turn on, and I did a real quick search and didn't see an answer. Are they not used in America?

They are for aesthetics reasons. To keep the corona look. They do not turn on.

Don't think so. Theres no bulbs in them. My main beams swivel and fog lights turn on when I turn the wheels.

Good question then: I don't have fog lights. I'm going from an F32 with LED's that turn to an F30 on order with xenon's. I'm guessing they will act kind of similar?

Just think of them as part of the DRL's. Since they became mandatory the rings now have a dual purpose.

I believe they are the high beams for the halogen lights. If you have the xenons, they are for looks. I got this from the "Lamp Replacement" section of the owner's manual.

This projectors belongs to BMW like the kidney grilles. Its their brand style - this is what BMW makes so sexy compared to other cars.

Technically it is not necessary to have them but they dont want to dismiss this style, so they built them without any function. Thanks god, because every BMW looks awesome! For me BMW has the best design if you consider all models. Currently, there is no model I would say, wtf this one is ugly as hell.

F32 w/ LEDs here and NO fogs. Pretty sure mine light up when cornering / corner lights.

Yea the LED's light up I think, but not the cars with Bi-Xenon projectors.

FWIW, in my E90 the lights closest to the grille were my flash-to-pass lights and halogen. I assumed BMW did this because flashing your xenons when not on requires firing them up, and is excess wear and tear on the related systems and components.. It made sense to me, because my TL had bi xenons but fired up the xenon for flashing, seemed stupid and a good way to burn ballasts and other items out. For whatever reason BMW ditched the old method and now does the same thing, but I'm pretty sure they mention avoiding excess wear on the xenon system in the manual. Ironic.
