MPPSK Burble tune, Exhaust burbles
Hi guys new to the forum and Had a few questions that I could not find an answer too, Im new to BMW, and am planning on getting a 440 in the next few weeks as my current car is being lemon law'd (2018 Q50 Redsport) Im on the fence weather or not MPPSK is worth it, The exhaust itself doesn't matter to me that much, as I am close with a reputable exhaust shops that I always have build me custom systems, and Basically Id have a straight pipe welded up, One thing I am curios about is if a car that does not have MPPSK going to burble and pop less then one equiped with it, even with the same catback exhaust, I'm trying to get the loudest "gunshots" I can without going catless, or voiding any warranty's, so no burble tunes (yet), Any insight would be helpful on how I can accomplish this would be much appreciated.

If you get a full cat back exhaust it’ll burble. It won’t burble crazy like MPPSK, cause the MPPSK package has a tune along w/ the exhaust. Therefore if you want the crazy burbles w/ an after market cat back, you would need a burble tune.

Have the MPPSK with a JB4 right now - I love it... However, now with the tune out - I would go Dinan with a Dinan Mid pipe and the Mission Perrformance with the Burble option... but that depends whether you have the appatite for risk on the warranty side..
if your not - MPPSK is your best bet then (albeit at lower performance then the tune) |

440 without the MPPSK still burbles, you just have to know how to get it to pop. (hard pull in 1st or 2nd and drop throttle before 6K. I went to Miami muffler and had both resonators deleted for $150 and it pops all the time now and much louder. I can get it to pop in 4th and 5th gear on the highway. Save yourself the money and get a resonator delete paired with an axle back exhaust for pops. IF you REALLY want it to pop throw in a catless downpipe.

not even close without a tune - but to each is own honestly
Catless DP just makes it louder - resonator needs to be removed also... more bang for your buck just removing the resonator even with stock exhaust Quote:

The burbles, crackles, pops are due to MPPSK tune parameters. The sound is from a controlled misfire, basically a bit of fuel is allowed after lift that creates the sound. The exhaust is calibrated to work with the tune, the valves open in Sport and Sport +. When they installed they did exhaust and forgot the tune, so I drove with just exhaust a little. Tune is needed for the snap, crackle, pop.

I have stock tune with a $200 muffler delete and i hear some burbles in comfort mode, and they happen every time i lift in sport mode. I can't compare to loudness of MPPSK since i've never driven a car with one, but they are plenty noticeable to me even though I just have the stock tune. It's really noticeable when driving under overpasses or next to buildings in the city.
Plus you can get an aftermarket tune and catback for cheaper than the MPPSK and make more power. Personally I'm still waiting a few months to see BM3 and others get into the B58 market before I choose a tuner. Hopefully there are some good group buys/sales for Black Friday. |

Went to same place - love it with the dual resonator delete. Pops and burbles are louder/more often than stock exhaust without MPPSK
