Hey everyone,

Does anyone know what the 8 different variations of the EQ_Variant are?

I installed the alpine bmw kit with the 2 tweeters, 2 mids and the amplifier + harness to just piggyback on the existing quad lock.
The car has been VO coded with option 676 for hifi..

Furthermore I replaced the 6,5" subs under the two front seats with 2 x 8" Match BMW-8D subs but it feels like they are not really playing at all…

Now I'm looking into what these eq_variant actually mean as mine is currently set for variant no. 5 which as far as can tell from googling is supposed to be the one used for the HK sound systems on the F30/F31 models …
Can anyone tell me what the different variants are for ? And which one should I be selecting for my F34 with just the hifi stereo (2 mids + 2 tweeters front, 2 subs under seats and the alpine amp and 2 mids in the back driven by the headunit)

Did you update your idrive with the in-menu software update for bluetooth?

After I updated the software version, I felt an decrease in bass.
Try to revert the software version. (If you updated)

Not as far as I know. Wasn't anything I tried to do at least …

I'll try to FDL code the other eq variants tonight and see if that changes anything ..

Just try the different eq settings to hear what sounds best for you.
Maybe switch to another setting and drive for a day, because even the road and engine noise makes the system sound different.
I switched to different tweeters for my HK system, and i ended up with setting 3 (2).

BTW, are you sure you used the right connections?

Yes. It was clearly indicated in the instructions.
I fiddled with the settings and ended up going for the no. 2 Eq variant and everything seems to be okay for now ..

#2 is hifi which is correct if you retrofitted 676. HK is a totally different amp and set up.
