320i MPG
With all these MPG threads thought I'd see what my fellow 320i owners are getting.
Just done a 240 mile round trip averaging 30mph and achieved 33.2mpg. Seems a bit low to me. My car is 6-7 months old 5.5k miles and Xdrive sport auto! How are the rest of you doing??? |

34 around town and 37 on my commute. Though had another play with eco pro today and managed 42!

most of my driving is on city and rural roads.
currently getting about 34mpg. i did a clock reset on a steady motorway run at 80..ish and was doing about 45 mpg. as a side note, if you doing mostly short trips as i am too. you'll get a little more v's a diesel as petrol is a little cheaper per gallon. plus i used to have to go out in my old 320d E90 once a fortnight to do a 'regen' run on the motorway. and burn off a couple of gallons in 4th at 2000+rpm to make sure the DPF was getting up to temp and burning. as there is no indicator to tell you when one is needed, or when it has been completed....just when the DPF is virtually blocked.... |

Not 320i but the same N20 motor, my 328i does about 36mpg town and 39-40mph motorway. This is all Comfort and D mode and usually around 80-85mph on the motorway with a few blasts here and there. It's not nannied, but it's not pushed all the time. A healthy mix!
However, become more spirited and it'll drink with the best of 'em. That was a shock for me coming from diesel (E90 LCI 330d), which stayed firmly within the 43-47mpg range, seemingly no matter how much I booted it. That was a cracking motor.

I'm getting low 30's at the moment, but still in the braking in period - just passed 500 miles so engine is still tight, and I am doing short journeys mainly

£30 of fuel £131.7 per litre 160 miles covered = 31.9 mpg
Now this is town driving, and very efficient driving as much as possible. Think driving miss daisy. No heavy foot and between 30-40 mph. Does this sound comparable to what you guys are experiencing? Edit: Sorry 320i Xdrive manual 6000 miles |

Sounds about right considering x drive and manual are both less efficient than an auto sdrive

We only do very short town drives most of the time(2-5 miles) 27mpg at 2200 miles at the moment but definitely improving as it was 20 mpg when it was new(in January/February) only drove on a longer trip once at 1000 miles and it was 35 mpg average(including town as well) I wasn't achieving more in my previous 325d M sport before so I'm ok with that.
