340xi - Led Turn Indicator/Eyebrow light - help

Hey guys,

I noticed a problem with the left led turn indicator/eyebrow light on my 2016 340xi over this weekend. The led bulbs seem to have burned out as I can see the eyebrow light only lights up partially. I wasn't sure if fixing this would mean replacing the entire headlight cluster or if there is a way to replace the eyebrow led bulbs alone? I did try searching the forum, but no luck.

1. If anyone has experienced a similar issue, can you please suggest options to fix this?
2. I purchased this car as a CPO, and the factory warranty is still active as the car has only run 38K miles. Is this something I can get fixed under factory warranty or the CPO warranty?

Thanks!

If the factory warranty is still active, take it to your dealer.
They'll sort it out.

Hey,

Thank you. Yes, i called the dealership like you suggested and explained to them the issue. I've an appointment scheduled for tomorrow. The unusual thing about this issue, which the dealership noted, is that I don't have any code/message on my iDrive related to this.

Guess, i will know better tomorrow.

Cheers!

If they can't fix the issue, I'm almost certain they'll just put on a new headlight. Of course at no cost for you since it is covered under warranty. Less headache for them.

Yeah do it before the factory warranty runs out.. CPO warranty doesn't cover headlights.

Each part of the LCI LED headlight has a little LED driver/module. Two for the Angel Eyes, one for the side marker, and one for the eyebrow. I've had two partial failures on different cars like yours, because the eyebrow LED has two diodes in the single module. On both occasions, one of the two had died due to water ingress. The little module was nasty and corroded.

You don't need a new headlight, and the dealer won't replace the headlight anyway. They will replace the module.

If they don't cover it:

You need Part no. 63117419618 if it's your right, or 63117419617 if it's your left.

OEM is $400+

I've used this seller without issue.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/LED-Scheinw...kAAOSwyQVcjwbn

They are OEM HELLA from Germany for MUCH less.

Hey ProjektAutoScott

Thank you so much! This is the detail I was searching for. I do have my (rescheduled) appointment with the dealer this Friday, hopefully they will fix it. If not, I now know what I need to do

Thanks again!

Misalignment issue

Hey guys, I just thought I'd provide an update.

I had been to the dealership today, got it checked out and it came back as a "misalignment issue". The dealership told me that this was because the car was involved in some sort of minor collision and an independent auto body shop had done some work that resulted in the misalignment. Dealership also said that they can't charge it back to the warranty as there is no malfunction and that I would need to pay for the 1 hour of labor.

I tried to reason with them that I had purchased this car as a CPO only 7 months ago and that I had not been involved in any sort of collision or had any work done on it. The dealership argument that there was no report of any collision when they sold it to me and since the 60 day period after the sale to fix any similar issue at no cost had elapsed, I would be liable for the payment.

At the end, I paid $150 for getting the misalignment fixed by the dealership.

Cheers!

Did the alignment fix the issue though?
