Just finished the install using this DIY. Thanks!
Those pins are a bit of a pain. I ended up using a large flathead screwdriver to leverage against the inside part of the pins to force them out.

Broke plastic gear while removing the armrest
I tried to remove my old armrest on F30 today and broke this little gear on the side of the console 😭 (apparently it controls how smoothly the armrest opens and closes). Do you know whether it can be replaced?

Here is a tip. It’s hard to find Dakota leather sliding armrests…
But trivially easy to find merino leather sliding armrests… by buying them from m3 part outs. Plus they are just more comfy and luxurious feeling. I bought the entire m3 center console for $200 and swapped the extending Schwarz merino armrest and also the leather knee booster over to my preexisting console, then swapped my Dakota original and console top onto my spare console for easier storage. Plus I now have spare rear seat vents, outlet, rear seat buttons and key sensors, thus guaranteeing none of those will ever in a million years fail on me. Until I discard them.
