My 335i MSport w/ MPPK @ Nurburgring 29/30 June 2013 w/ video!
So, I finally got the time to make a trip to the hallowed Green Hell (Nurburgring) with some friends this weekend! The weather broke as we passed by Frankfurt and stayed beautiful until we left, which is unusual this Summer. We saw some amazing cars, including an Aventador, 2x SLS AMG, a plethora of M3s and even a TVR Cerbera!
I'll post more photos of the cars we saw, along with a video of my 3rd lap when I get the chance, but for now, enjoy the shots I've gotten off the web, courtesy of the photographers at the corners! I'm in the EBII 335i (w/ MPPK), my friends have the '09 C63 AMG (stock), '11 M3 (stock) and the '05 Mustang GT (supercharged and tuned to over 500 hp). Great shots, super jealous! It reminds me of my trip to the ring about a year ago with our EBII/335i. Did you have any issues with the stock brakes holding up?

As for the brakes, not as much as the AMG did! That thing got hot! We took a minimum 30 min break between laps, did rides in each others cars, etc. So while they got a little bit more spongey at the end of a lap and definitely smelled hot, I had no issues. I also never really had to stand on them. (I should add the temperature never got above 65F this weekend. Most of our runs were in less than 60 degree temps. Perfect, IMO) Oh, and I have some better shots coming. The guys at Frozenspeed.com got what I think are the best shots I've seen so far. Just have to wire him 40 euro to get the five of them up here. Here are some more pics from the weekend! I love the first seven from Frozenspeed.com. The rest are fairly good smartphone pics. Forgot the real camera... Beautiful country there, and on Sunday, the weather was awesome! The video is still to come. Prost!

Just check the Nurburgring facebook page. These photographers post on there all the time with links to their pages. They have libraries online dating back a few years at least. I bet you can find some if you hit a couple of the sites. Last edited by KellerKiller; 07-01-2013 at 02:58 PM.. |

Here's my video! Please don't judge my driving skills too harshly, it was tourist day and I had a full car! I was a bit faster when it was just my wife and me. The louder commentary is my buddy with the AMG; the guy in the back seat is my friend with the M3 and the girl of course is my wife
I went for smooth on this run, it was my third and last (slow is smooth, smooth is fast ). I drove harder that morning, but again slow since we had two yellow flags for wrecks... I could definitely feel the extra two passengers on this run though. I've seen posts about the body roll and I have to say that compared to the AMG and M3 (I rode in both), yes there is more. However, balanced with the power it has, even with the MPPK, the car is still perfectly nimble once you get in tune. I will post my video from the AMG later (it takes a few hours to get these HD videos up on youtube). We started and stopped the videos at different times, but I think he still beat me by 45 sec to a minute. A bit rough through some corners, but it has simply brutal acceleration! Enjoy! (watch in 1080p if you can) Oh, and please pardon the language Last edited by KellerKiller; 07-03-2013 at 04:47 PM.. |

Absolutely! My pleasure.
I have one more video on its way next week. It's from the M3 as trail car during the first run Sunday. The file got corrupted when my friend transferred it though so I have to try again. |
