Wow, looks very cool! Curious about your mods...wheels, tires, shocks, and others. For comparison, here's a photo of my 2015 335i x-Drive but with the AWD Eibach Spring kit that only lowers about 0.8" in the front and 0.6" in the rear. Stock 18" wheels and tires. Please keep us posted on how you like your new setup!

Drop is 0.8" front 0.6" rear. Car isn't as low as the RWD Eibach drop, but it removes the excess fender gap.

With stock shocks, ride quality is slightly firmer than before. Handling is much improved.
3 months later, I regret not also getting new dampers to go with the Eibach Pro Kit. Car is too bouncy and unsettled over bumps.

New springs should also be paired with matched dampers.

New setup will be Dinan springs, bump stops + Koni Sport yellow (Bilstein B8 still backordered and I don’t want to wait months)

Hey man,
You have a fantastic ride! I'm in your exact boat, and wanted to get your feedback. I'm lowering my '16 340 X-drive next week. I had already ordered Eibach springs for AWD, but your post is making me pretty sure I should return them and order the RWD version, as you did.

Are you happy with the drop? I've lowered my last (5) 3 series "sport pkg" sedans, and understand there is a reasonably small, but noticeable, difference in ride quality. OVERALL, is the RWD spring kit working out well on your AWD car, and would you do it again??

to clarify: my car I'm considering your same RWD Eibach springs on is a:
2016 340i xdrive, M-sport, adaptive suspension, staggered wheel setup

Do you have adaptive struts or just base struts?

how do you like them so far? I still want to lower my car but down want a bouncy ride. I know springs and struts are a good option, but for the cost, I'd just get ST coilovers.

Eibach or Dinan shocks on 335Xi WITH adaptive suspention

Any info on this? I am surprised the Eibachs are less firm than the Dinan and wonder if this holds true for the magnetorheological adaptive shocks on my car. The Dinan spring rates are 225 F; 668 R---but I do not know what the adaptive suspension OEM spring rates are.

I only know that the Eibach spring kit for the 335i x-Drive is about 10% stiffer than stock and drops the car Front 0.8", Rear 0.6". I think that I heard that from Koni. Dinan told me that their x-Drive spring kit is about 30% stiffer than stock and drops the car 0.75" all around.
Eibach RWD springs are different but I do not know the specs on them. I suggest calling Eibach to ask your questions.

I recently bought Eibach ProKit Springs for my 435d xDrive (F33) with Adaptive Suspension.

I had to opt for the springs with a slightly higher load tolerance (due to the extra axle weight of the convertible), the part number I was provided was: E10-20-031-06-22.

The drop is 20mm front, 15mm rear - with OEM 19" wheels and no spacers.

Looks about the height of an M-Sport non-xDrive, body roll has reduced significantly and there is still plenty of road comfort, quite pleased!

adaptive suspension settings with Eibach

SO I also have adaptive suspension on my 2014 MT 335Xi (with Dinan stage 1 and ER charge Pipe as well). Now that I have Michelin AS3+s replacing the Run Flats it is a pretty nice ride on my 18 inch square wheel setup.
Do you still have the RFs? if not, what suspension settings do you prefer now?
Thanks.

Interesting that Dinan does not offer spring set for F33 Conv.

I see you are in Manchester (hence UK). Why did you go with Eibach on your 435d Xi conv? Progressive springs?
Thanks.

F3x Pro-kit springs are linear.

I still have RF Eagle F1s at the front (due to replace with non-RF shortly as I can feel the harshness at the front still).

I'm yet to have the geometry set up, but I find comfort mode to still be relatively comfortable, sport mode can be a little jarring on these awful roads around the UK, but it really does feel planted now with plenty more road-feel - which is what I was after, best of both worlds really.

Eibach don't officially support the 435d xDrive 'Vert with their springs, but they were highly recommended by my tuner as long as I got the springs with higher axle load tolerances, and were cheaper than all other competing brands here.

As said above - they are linear and not progressive.

Hey X-drive owners; Mark_tdot and Alec.sharp have figured out the formula for a very good riding suspension, that will also carve up turns and ride on rails! I followed their lead and had great results today. I just got my ‘16 340i X-drive, M-Sport, adaptive suspension back from my local tuning shop. I ran their recommended RWD-designated Eibach springs, part no. E10-20-031-02-22. The ride quality is barely different at all from my previous M-Sport suspension driving on city roads in traffic, but has 911-like handling when pushed on backroad turns. Plus, it looks like an M-car now, not an Audi AllRoad.

That kit contains the front spring Eibach recommends for 4cyl xDrive cars and 6cyl RWD cars. The rear spring is the standard rear spring for RWD cars (F30/32/36).

On the front spring, the recommended springs for your car (340xi) both have a spring rate of 34N/mm (194lbs/in), but one is 15mm longer than the other uncompressed. The spring that you chose has a spring rate of 29N/mm (165.5lbs/in) and splits the difference in length between the two recommended for your car.

The difference between the xDrive and RWD rear springs is that the RWD spring has a spring rate of 86N/mm (491lbs/in) and the xDrive spring is 95N/mm (542.5lbs/in). The RWD spring is also 6mm shorter uncompressed.

I went kind of the opposite direction as you. I REALLY enjoyed the ride quality moving up from the front spring you're running now, to the taller spring recommended for the 340xi w/ the adaptive dampers. The stiffer spring rate improved handling and body control over the softer spring IMO. Unfortunately that made the wheel gap a bit too large, so I moved to the shorter spring for the 340xi. Front end handling is still excellent, but there's a bit earlier bump stop engagement which doesn't make things quite as comfortable.

Given how the rear EDC dampers operate (a decent bit more rebound than compression) I'm surprised you like the ride better as it forces you on your bump stops more. My next round of spring tweaking will be boosting the rear rates some, since Eibach's rear springs don't change the rate too much.

Hey man-
Thanks for your response. It certainly sounds like you've done your research, and I respect the hell out of that! In thinking about your last thought regarding bumpstops; which brand or measurement bumpstops have you had the most success with?

I did have my bumpstops carefully cut down slightly. The Indy shop who did my suspension work is a drift-car/Nissan specialist, who prides himself on his suspension work.... so I trusted him to cut mine to where he felt they would ride best for me.

Great pics! I hear what you're saying about the roads around the Philly area. I'm right over the Betsy Ross in NJ. Have you ever been to Cars & Coffee on Saturday mornings 8:30-11 at Millers Ale House in Mt Laurel at Rt73 & Fellowship Rd? I just heard that there's lots of awesome cars there. Been messaging with some Bimmer guys in the area about meeting up there.

Really great stuff! Thanks for posting!
I'm curious where I can find the Eibach spring specs? I've got a 2015 335i xDrive with non-adaptive suspension. I've got Eibach xDrive spring kit installed which I really like. But the only specs I've heard is that they are 10% stiffer than stock as opposed to my second choice which would have been the Dinan xDrive spring kit which is supposedly 30% stiffer than stock. Curious if you have actual numbers comparing stock vs Eibach, and maybe even Dinan? Thanks in advance!
