Quick question re. Tire Pressure Sensors - I assume these are the valves themselves, do I need anything else for these to work, like a special module in the car etc?

Not really sure but the part number I provided should point you to what it looks like...

I can?t remember the dates exactly but could be later than second half of 2014 you do not need the control module.

In the earlier cars you will also need the control module in order to have tpms working.

If you have esys, check to see whether you have an ecu called dsc100 or similar. In the later cars this ecu also controls the tpms.

I have a 2017 340i and all I did was install the tpms into each wheel then coded the car. Easiest retrofit I?ve done and all for $200.

Thanks for the info. My car is 2014, I think an early one at that. It has a tire pressure monitoring of some sort as it will detect when the car has lost tire pressure. Maybe that means it has the control module already installed?

x5mad: These TPMS will give me PSI and TEMP readings (if coded) right?

As yours is an early 2014 I can?t say for sure.

If your car has the newer dsc ecu which has the combined tpms sensor then coding will work.

Earlier cars require a separate ecu which is solely for the tpms.

Earlier cars only measure the change in rolling radius of the tyre and coding will not give you psi or tyre temps.

Thanks for the info x5mad. I'll check the build date but It sounds like mine does as you've described above and probably won't work with these sensors

Not sure, I guess if they were the same/similar length they would. I'm not sure of the difference in length between the f36 and f30 though.

Could you give me the measurements of the length and the screw points so i can see if it will fit.

Sorry, I'm away with work until next week. Will try to get it out to measure for you then. I don't think there are any screw points, some nice 3M double sided tape would be more than enough to secure.
