Smile Time to move on a little.

After 2 years ownership of the 440i GC MPPSK it's time to move on as I need something bigger and more practical. The PCP expires in December and it was a case of keep it or trade on.

Just pressed the button on an X3 M40i in phytonic blue with black leather and blue stitching. I managed to find a dealer with a build slot that I could customise and it goes into production in October, delivery in November.

Someone is going to get a great 440i. Hopefully it will be my wife as I'm trying to get her to upgrade from her Fiesta MP215 so we can keep the 440i

That's a great colour for the M40i. Should be a nice Xmas present.
What sort of discount are they offering in them btw?

Not great (c7%) but they had an immediate build slot. With others quoting long delivery times it was a price I was prepared to pay for faster delivery.

I certainly hope so. They're like hens teeth at the moment so I only got to drive the 30d M-Sport which was great. If the M40i drives like the 30d but with the awesome B58 engine I'll be very happy.

I've gone with the 21" (718) wheels so hoping the ride won't be too hard. Hopefully the adaptive dampers will help.

Never mind the x40i this, that or the other...

The most important thing is that you're keeping the R400. Everything else is just transport.

Very true. The R400 isn't going anywhere. In fact, I might just be able to tow the R400 to more trackdays with the M40i

It's a bit weird the M40i is less than a second slower to 60 than the R400 despite its weight.

Congratulations on the new car!

Mine will be an October build and November delivery, so maybe they’ll be on the same boat!!

I’m 6 weeks into my wait, and I don’t think there is anything left on the interweb I haven’t read/watched!!

Nice replacement vehicle, might be my next one,

Any issues on returning the PCP with MPPSK, and was there any extra value to the cars value?

Good question. I shouldn't think so as it was fitted by the dealer a few days after delivery. Add value? I doubt it as the GFV is fixed.

Will probably add value as a private sale and any dealer would be keen to have it on the forecourt as its fairly high spec. Almost every option plus individual paint, seats and leather interior. Depressing to see how much value it has lost so try not to think about that too much.

Mrs W is warming to the idea of keeping it for herself so we could be a 2 N58 family.

Anyone want a low mileage, immaculate Fiesta ST3 MP215? It's just not quick enough for us

Saw my first one of these in Glasgow today, looked and sounded great. Roundabout near Cathcart station. Are you on a private plate?

What are people paying insurance wise on the M40i?

I assumed it would be a similar premium to the 440 GC MPPSK. Anyone made that move and how does it compare?

Suppose it depends on where you live / driving history etc. I am paying about the same as I was for my 330d. So, you shouldn’t be in for too much of a fright!

Glad to hear it.

Reckon the similar 0-60 will be purely down to traction. A rolling 2nd (or 3rd, 4th or 5th) gear start would see the Seven disappear. And then there's the braking and cornering...
