O2 sensor question
I have a downpipe and got a 90 degree angle mini cat. Some how my original O2 sensor had cut wires after an accident. I replaced it with some $40 cheap sensor and I'm curious if all these codes are for a bad O2 sensor or am I wasting time with this mini CAT. I'm trying to pass emissions. The codes only appear after 50miles after I detuned the car to stock on MHD. 2014 EWG 435i FBO.

generally speaking those spacers rarely work.. you won't know 100% for sure unless you try a different sensor if that's the problem or not.

I'm in the same boat in needing to pass emissions testing (OBD2). I usually have a catless downpipe installed. However, I kept my failing original catalytic converter. I did install an O2 spacer on the downstream O2 sensor bung of my original catalytic converter. I hope it won't trigger the CEL before I get to the self serve kiosk for emissions testing. |

102001 for air mass is not likely to be related to the O2.
This thread is your best resource on this topic: https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1522965 Also, be aware that you should not leave the angled O2 spacer/mini cat on the car long term. Per MHD and other sources, the secondary O2 is used for more than just catalyst monitoring, and it needs to be in the exhaust stream and accurately reading. If it were my car, i would get a good/OEM sensor in there. |

I just had my emissions testing done. Passed!
My catalytic converter is on its way out and it seems that O2 sensor spacer gave it just enough to not trigger the CEL. Time to remove the factory catalytic converter and and re-install the catless down pipe. |
