Hit and Run (to the US of A)
Not sure who would say that it's morally right for the lady to leave the country (after telling police she wouldn't) but I don't understand that, IF this person has diplomatic immunity, why didn’t she stay in the U.K and support the police enquiry? She can't be prosecuted.
I can only assume she thinks she doesn't have immunity or if she does and cannot be prsecuted, she's got zero morals in my view. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-englan...shire-49969982 |

Guilty.
Let's see how well the special relationship is between the USA and UK in sending her back. If I'm not mistaken, the extradition treaty between the 2 nations only works one-way. |

It stinks and I pray the Dunn family get justice. Having to watch your son's killer walk free because of a technicality would be truly appalling for them.

I feel for the family who want answers. From all accounts it was a genuine accident as she drove on the wrong side of the road. She never intended to kill some one when she set off that day. I guessed very early on in this story due to the nature of the base that she or her husband were CIA or another Intel Agency and not actually Diplomats as such. It would appear now that there is an arrangement with HM Govt that Intel people and there family are covered on that base. I suspect that this is to stop them being brought before a UK court due to the type of (Probably illegal) activities. After all we are not a hostile state which would be the normal reason for such cover.
I would hope her own guilt brings her back and to the family's credit i heard them say they would have accepted a suspended sentence so she is not taken from her family like there son was. |

Diplomatic immunity my arse!
She obviously thought she'd done something wrong as she ran! I don't care who you are, you should be held accountable! I feel for the poor family. |

I suspect they will get paid off.
At the end of the day, she was here a few weeks and on the wrong side of the road (and probably in a left hand drive import, which doesn't help). Accident, but running doesn't make you look good and the US can't justify diplomatic immunity on her individually. |

Disgraceful.
If they can't pursue her through the UK Courts I hope they manage to splash her name all over the American TV/press.

Seems the 'special relationship' doesn't amount to a hill of beans here.
Trump has stepped in and said they will not waive her diplomatic immunity. Not sure I'd expect anything else from a man who has zero moral backbone and is fundamentally opposed to justice.

Load of ballox that a family member can claim immunity against this, what special privilege should she have to be able to just walk away from causing someones death. I know it was an accident and not murder but careless actions have consequences. Hopefully she has a conscience, nobody can give you immunity from that.

If the women had any conscious she wouldnt have jumped on the first plane back. Could you imagine what would happen if she killed a USA citazen by reckless diving back home. She would have no immunity and if found guilty straight to jail. Why treat her differently if she was found to do the same to a British person. Is the life of someone in the UK worth less than the life of someone in the USA. I think I know the answer. The POTUS should do the right thing. Special relationship or not. I feel so sad for the parents, they don't even want her to go to jail, they just want closure. Both the UK and US Governments couldn't give a fuck.
