A little update on the progress of this if anyone is interested.
The exterior is ready for prepping and painting, all the 'bling' is fitted. Just got to start on the interior..... |

I am firmly in the camp of "this looks great"! I really don't care about it being a kit or a replica. If it looks good and drives well - I would take it. In my other hobby - guitars - I have made replica 'old' (pre CBS) strats. They played better and sounded as good as originals (which I have also had and don't buy into the 'fairy dust' story of them sounding magical). I also prefer to spend £500 to get something that looks, feels and sounds great than spend £30,000 for something you don't dare to play in case it detracts from value.

Very nice. Do you have any photos of what the interior should look like? Always think the dash on somehting like this really makes it.
Impressed with the progress you've made. When you've finished, I've got an MGB project that needs a kick ![]() |

I have a new dash to fit, which is a replica of the original, so has two main Veglia gauges and a central 'pod' with four additional gauges, analogue clock and a new ignition switch. Everything internally will be changed, then all re-trimmed in sand leather. I have all the bits including the very expensive gauge set (with the odometer programmed to exact mileage of the car now). Just got to trim it all and get it to fit nicely. |

I wouldn't lower it. Keep the retro ride height at least until the sills are sorted to see how it looks.
Yes, I know that tire to wheel arch gap is the 'visible panty line' of the 21st century to some, but why always follow fashion. |

![]() The original car sits low with very little arch gap, so that is how it needs to be. |
