This car is just perfect aesthetically. We've been debating what car to get in 2014 and there's no doubt that this is it. BMW nailed this one

Isn't it true that any car will look good with oversized wheels and lowered suspension? I wonder how well this will translate to the production model. The spy pics didn't look anywhere near as nice as the concept IMO.

Basically everything on the spied production model was the same except toned down boomerang fender vent and production mirrors and production rear bumper. The front was completely covered but it will look the same as the concept except for toned down lower bumper.

Can you imagine this in m4 form? Really again will just absolutely dominate the segment like every previous generation. It is quite crazy that every single generation of the m3 (now m4) dominates its segment for the life of the car. You can see already this is not only beautiful but will be packed with a level of performance that is probably going to be unmatched by anyone else

For almost the same money as the outgoing M3, I would take the '13M3 any day. The 4 series does looks good though.

Not really. It's a concept, so many of the highlights will get toned down when it goes into production, and will look more like your F30, but with a coupe body.
You make it sound like the car will change significantly. Which it won't. Judging by recent BMW concepts the production models always end up being >90% the same. Yea the bumpers and mirrors will change otherwise it'll be the same virtually.

Here's an example.

Compare this (concept pics): http://www.bmw.com/com/en/insights/t...html#mediaID-0
http://www.6post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=433369

to this (production pics): http://www.bmwusa.com/standard/conte...e/default.aspx

Same thing with the M5 concept to production version.

Completey agree.
If there is a single company in the world that make production cars exactly same as their concept, it's BMW.

Although the front fascia looks like a large mouthed bass, It looks pretty badazz from the other angles........ kinda wish the rear fascia sported exposed exhaust pipes, but oh well.......

Maybe, just add 2 more doors and make it a GC....

i was hoping this would be more up class, starting at around 50-60k, with an m version coming in at around 70k...but being such an entry level model+having good looks, you can be sure this thing will be EVERYWHERE ...i live where you see 100 e92 coupes every 5 minutes...this will be no different

i was hoping it would create its own segment, and slot in above an A5/C350/e92, but below a 6 series. i mean the name "4 series" would suggest that, wouldnt it? However it turns out that this thing is nothing more than an entry level coupe.

some might say, "so get a 6 then" ..but i happen to like the looks of this much better and think it makes the 6 even look a bit dated. ..then some might say, "so get an m4 then" ..but bmw is such a slow company that an m4 wont be coming out until 2015/2016

so im really not sure what to do now...i was hoping this would be more upscale and create its own brand new segment but im so disappointed that it will start at such a low price. it really diminishes the exclusivity of the car ...they had such potential with this. i mean they were creating a brand new car and a brand new lineup of cars from scratch...and they slot it so low in the bmw lineup. they should have saved the 2 series for that and had the compete with the C-coupe/A5 and moved this more upscale

it will probably have a weak engine which disappoints me even further. ive been wanting a new car since early 2011 and i was holding off for this. the looks satisfy me but the engine options and low price point are bummers. im not waiting until 2015 for an M4, and the 6 series looks outdated with its old head light style, might have to look elsewhere for my next purchase now...
if you want exclusive you get the M4 or M4 GC, these will be as expensive and rare as you desire...
