Best option under $50?

To be completely honest, I am unable to determine what makes a $25 Battery Tender not as good as a $100 high end one.

The BMW one made by deltran is like $70. The cheap ones from Walmart don't work. Worth spending the extra money to prolong battery life as dealer charges $400+ to install and register a new battery. DIY will run you around $200 for a proper AGM battery with 90 ah that fits.

Picked this one up a while back. Works for me, also has the benefit of operating as a full on charger or as a maintainer (trickle). Plus, pretty cheap.

I've read that cheap chargers tend to overcharge and have higher voltage fluctuations causing damage to batteries. The best seems to be ctek seeing how there ripple is low and actually improve old batteries.

I used the Battery MINDer for the past 10 years, until it died this summer. Went with the CTEK MUS 4.3 (56-864) as it works on conventional & AGM batteries and offers the recondition/desulphation feature. It's the one BMW, Audi, Lambo, Ferrari & M-B rebrand for sale at the dealerships, if it matters!
