Have you cracked it yet Tr0y ?
Fitted the part itself, just need to do this cable, I've not had another go at it since the other day though! Fancy lending a hand lol?

Are there any photos or drawings that would make building the cable and configuring the pins easier? I dont understand from the description alone

Thanks!

Nice DIY. Will sure spice up the interior at night. Now, if this could be sourced from within the US.

Got my Fascia end of last week. Parts for the cable arrived at my dealer today. Will pick them up on the way home and have a crack at this tonight.

Yep sounds good. From memory, they have the cable bits in stock, it's just the trim they need to order. It took 3 days for me.

Yes. Just stick to my description and drawing.
It's mandatory to compare part numbers with my description and the pin assignment (1,2,3) imprinted on the housings.

If you're not keen with electronics, maybe ask someone who is.

FYI: Possible group-buy

Hi all,

because of lots and lots of inquiries about the purchase af the LCI trim part and an assembled Y-adapter I'm contemplating to organize a group buy for both.
I've contacted the admins about this and waiting for an answer.

For those who already purchased the parts for an adapter and have problems putting it together:
You can send them my way and I'll put them together for you.

Thanks
Christian

I've ordered the parts today for this upgrade and they should be here within 5 working days as the dash part has to be shipped from Germany.

Mod done, it looks brilliant and pretty simple! hardest bit was getting the climate controls out of the old unit. Wiring makes complete sense once you have all the parts in front of you, thank you Dante for your excellent write up

I ordered mine from bimmertech for $80 or so. Huge ripoff, and it's been 12 days and I still don't have it, but it's otherwise unavailable. In the grand scheme of things, i'll forget I spent an extra $40, and satisfy my impatience.

The cable bits cost me about $18 or so iirc from ecs, which just shipped today after about 13 days lead time.

Hi Dante,
In Step 2 - Click the 3 female bushing contacts with cable (#61130005198) into the socket housing (#61138377072).

Did you mean cable (#61130005197) instead? Aren't these the Female Bushing contacts?

Hi Jeff,

I'm sorry, you are absolutely right!
Don't know how I could have mixed the part # up as I did the write up with great care. Fixed the description!

Thanks

I'll cut it later if it doesn't fit or cable tie it.
