** Top Speed N20 ***

Wanted to Begin a fun little thread for those who do not have the governer on the car, Wanted to see what the max output of this car is. Please do not lie and please be honest about the top speed youve taken your car and then List your current mods, If you have your governer then you can list it also. I think this would be a fun little thread for us all. Mine is in my signature so i will not post my mods. Be advised i hit 163 without meth injection.

Top speed hit: 163mph

faq, I was assuming Past 150 my car would start to shake and would feel very sketchy but that did not happen, Im please with the F30/F32 Design as this car past 160 felt just like it did at 100 only difference is the sound of the air got slightly louder.

after 155 it was a slow climb but it eventually stopped climbing at 163, Atleast thats what my HUD told me unless it stops after a certain number. According to a friend we were actually slightly traveling uphill so maybe top speed is 167ish.

roughly 330awhp.

Being that it was many, many moons ago when I got my last ticket (151 mph) and it involved approx. $2k and 6 months to get my license back, I have no interest in testing the upper limit of my F30 outside of a closed road/track scenario. Just too damn expensive if you get caught.

I did not, I used my HUD which displays speeds past what the tachometer could do, im sure it wasnt as accurate as a a GPS But a buddy who went that speed with me told me he was also past 160 except i had a HUD that showed 163 so i told him thats what we hit. This was also done without meth injection

Honestly, I got super lucky. The CHP that pulled me over said two things saved me from reckless endangerment and way higher fines: the freeway was empty and I wasn't racing anyone else. So he only wrote 100+ on the citation and didn't cite the real speed. They didn't impound my car, I showed up to court and plead no contest, and the judge told me "if you had plead innocent, I would've taken your license for 3 years..." So though it sucked, it did teach me not to be so reckless with my own safety. I still love going fast, but I do so legally now. Lesson 100% learned.

Yeah man, Not many people can say they learned from past mistakes. But look at you now educating your fellow friends and now your making me and others think twice about such high speeds on those roads but yes this is done for me on a closed road at the time

Definitely not meant to rain on any parades, more just sharing why I don't have any cool F30 numbers to add to the thread. So jealous that folks have access to places where they can stretch their legs and really get her up to a gallop. Very impressive platform. Totally satisfied as an owner.

Yeah man for a 4cyl these things are fast, Im a firm believer that 300whp Comming out of an N20 can beat a 330whp car with the same weight. Its just something about this car that whatever hp it is the power delivery is insane

100% agree. I ate a G37S coupe the other day, totally anticipating to get smoked and was astonished when I reeled him in and then blew past him (he was tailgating and trying to pass on a double-solid yellow line, so I wanted to make his life difficult). He pouted behind my F30 all the way home in shame. It was super impressive and oh-so-delicious.

How is that possible, Explain. Both cars tachs were passed pinned out. Doubt that was true speed

132 for me, haven't tried since removing the governor.

And yah, factory speedo reads over actual speed relative to your actual speed. Meaning at 10mph it's pretty much accurate, and at 163mph it can be quite a bit faster than actual speed. Maybe up to 10mph too fast. I've read that it's because the automaker gets in loads of trouble if you're pulled over and you can prove that your speedo was reading too low. You can see if you use Waze, it's GPS speed it noticeably lower than what your speedo says.

Judge said pay the fine....no school, a point on the license. Its been 10 yrs never ever went past 90 mph

+1, I've verified that when mine reads 60 the actual speed is 58. Extrapolating from that if mine read 163 the actual would be 157.

Do it where that kind of speed isn't unduly dangerous to yourself or others. Speed limits exist for a very good reason, that being keeping you and everyone else on the roads alive.

+1. Never go fast unless you're on at least a 3 lane highway with no other cars in sight. At least that's my rule of thumb.

high speed run technique pre-family.....

in mexico.... we would go out in 3 cars, very late at night, few to no other cars on the road, no exits or on ramps within testing zone. Absolutely NO chance of another vehicle being put in danger or entering test zone.
car#1 leaves 15-20 seconds early, going speed limit, to check highway for anything that might be bad news.
car#2 (high speed run vehicle) would leave 15-20 seconds after car#1 and push it to the limit, lifting as it approached car#1
car#3 traveling at speed limit, would leave at same time as car#2, to make sure there were no approaching vehicles from behind.

*only one ticket in my life, and it was not in a car or related to a car.
