There isn't anything inherently substandard about OEM oil used by BMW dealers.

Unless you live in an extreme climate, just use the same oil and enjoy the driving experience.

Look for any oil that meets ACEA A3/B3, A3/B4 specification, and you’ll be fine.

Do you not know how to click the "search" button? This topic has already been beaten to death around here.

Do dealers buy in bulk? I do not trust that local bulk purchase is BMW spec oil.

Just ask your local dealer service department. They will gladly share this information.

If you are not doing tracking, I would just follow BMW's guidelines and approved oils. There is not much to gain from asking a forum about which oil is "best" because there is no right answer.

I have been and still using 5W-30 on my E90 despite people saying there are "better" oils out there and I have encountered zero issues with its performance or drivability.

Ty sir, the manual for my car say "SAE 5W-30"

I was guessing there was something better out there for it

Just an update, I actually spoke to a Bmw dealership today and he said 0W-30 is the way to go now

If your manual says use 0W do so. If not, don't. Many dealers have made the decision to go 0W across the board, because that way they only have to stock one SKU rather than two or three.

'Better' has nothing to do with the oil weight. What does is debatable, which is why there are threads that seemingly go on forever on the subject.
