Hey guys FYI this guy is still active. I posted a WTB ad for both an M Sport steering wheel and Bavsound speakers. He replied to both through PM and asked me to email him. I thought that was weird because he could have just continued through PM but I emailed him. He sent me pics of the wrong steering wheel but I assumed he confused me with someone else. He didn't reply when I asked him if he had the wheel I was looking for, but I asked about the speakers. He asked what I was willing to pay. I said $350 and he agreed to $370 shipped to Canada. Again I thought he was being way too agreeable, but he sent pics and everything looked legit. Then this happened:

Him:

I can ship tomorrow, as early as i can before heading to work but i no longer have paypal .
I use MoneyGram often as my wife works in a MoneyGram store, so she has an approved moneygram outlet which gives her a plus.lol.
Can we try that out ? So i'll commence all necessary shipping arrangements as soon as i can.

Me:

I'm not comfortable with MoneyGram. I'd rather do PayPal since I have experience with them, I'm better protected and I don't have to pay a fee. Let me know if you can send me a PayPal invoice.

Him:

I no longer have paypal , since my wife works in a moneygram store and it gives her a plus i need to give her the best support.
You really dont need to worry, Sure you'll have it , Lol, just to make it short.... if i try to screw you ... my wife's job is at risk, What more.
Sincerity i believe is what keeps business going and i am being very sincere to you and i guess you are too...

Lol... Yes the job of some wife I've never met will make me essentially pay to wire you money. On another note I think the reason why he switched to e-mail is to prevent reverse image search. It's something I wanted to do once I became suspicious, especially when I noticed his low post count and the type of posts he was making. "Nice, nice car, etc"

Beware folks!

At what point do Mods ban this person then? Rather than have a sticky it would seem to make more sense to just ban him for behavior.

He emailed me as well trying to sell BMW PERFORMANCE SEATS, he said he was in north carolina.

I knew he was shady when he said i will ship them, even though i live in atlanta and i wanted to meet him up. I figured something was fishy, he never responded to me again

YES PLEASE BEWARE OF HIM.

Anyone who has tried to sell all these things (and supposedly trying to buy somethings while not posting virtually and classifieds AND NO iTRADER FEEDBACK, all kind of warning flags (not to mention Google Translate/Bad English...and then there is the scammers favorite....moneygram.

http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sea...rchid=51939901

Best to deal with those with Positive Feddback AS SELLER as even good buyers are not always the best sellers.

Also good to ask for their eBay name to examine feedback....and make sure you message on eBay to be sure it's them.

Word to the wise.

Let's keep this at the top. I just got scammed by SLY042. lesson learned, never do money orders. Always do things by card like Paypal. I put my faith too much in people and that's what I get...

Of course he built up post count with BS Posts.

Forum will not allow messaging someone without a base post count!

My favorite scam attempts are the ones you get in the emails about a poor orphan from Africa Imani and that her dead father left her 4 million dollars. But he died in a plane crash and her evil stepmother won't give her money, but if you are a good heart and soul and help her get out she will give you 1 million for your troubles proofing your info and checking account so she knows where to "scam" I mean send you all them fat stacks

I hope he didn't scam you out of a lot.. I've heard horror stories of this type of stuff in the past. In the future always find out how you're protected before sending money.

Yeah it can happen even with someone with decent post count and rep you never know. Bottom line use PayPal and get protected so you can get your money back.

Sucks for those that get screwed over. I hear Craigslist horror stories all the time.

Add me to the list....SLY22 contacted me regarding my WTB turbo to intercooler pipe posting. Mentioned he had pics of the pipe so he emailed me a photo that was obviously not a TIC pipe. I called him out on it...then he said "I have a friend" who has what I need and that he"misunderstood" my WTB posting. WTF....total scam

Scammers tend to purposely use bad grammar and misspelled words. The theory is that if a person is dumb enough not to question the obvious errors, then they are an easy target. If it's too good to be true.....

Bingo! They're gonna use any tactic they can. Just the thing is people are also adapting and recognizing bs when they see it, so it's all getting harder to do and they use all sorts of dumb ass tactics to extort or attempt to...

I once had a guy at work think he bought a 2006 Ford F-150 back in 2011 for $4500 on Craig's list for his son that graduated HS. He was so proud he found a good deal and wanted to share....And he paid for it and is awaiting shipment today. Out of state car old lady that was selling it for her military son the whole 9 yards classic story.
I told him outright you aren't taking delivery of anything today in your driveway but some free oxygen. He freaked out and needles to say it was a scam...

Like you said deal too good to be true it is...good luck finding a $4500 4 or 5 year old f150 for that lol. Just gotta stay away from that stuff.

I just sent a message to one of the moderators.

Those of you who have had dealings with this clown should do the same.

If you have a problem like this or anything else, you need to contact the moderators and get it taken care of. They have much better things to do than watch over us like a flock of sheep. Besides, we're a pretty big flock!!
