BimmerCode and the Vgate iCar Pro Wi-Fi OBD2 Adapter (or Bluetooth) are really easy as well. Together they cost around $50. That's the only one I have any experience with so I can't comment on the other options.

That's the one I got and it worked fine. They sell a Bluetooth one as well (not sure why I said USB earlier....one of those days I guess). I got WiFi because I have an iPhone and I read a lot of people said the Bluetooth one wasn't working with iOS. |

Thanks for the link! Do I use the free version of BimmerCode to make it work or do I have to use the paid version?

No manual, but it's pretty self explanatory. IIRC, you can download the app for free and they have a "Demo" setting where it simulates a coding session so you you go in and play around with it. You only need to pay when you actually want to code your car. Just note, depending on your car's MY and options, everything shown in the demo may not be available on your car.

Key Code cloned?
Dear all, I have advertised my BMW F30 320d M Auto 2014 for sale and today two dodgy guys they been coming to see the car. I have started the motor when one of them was seating on the driver seat, but key was always with me, I put the key into the car just to start the motor then I put it back in my pocket, me being outside the car.
One of the guys distracted me to show me some basic scratches at the opposite back of the car, when the other guy was sitting in the driver seat. After they left I have realised that they stolen my Power-Beats mini head phones that they were in the pocket door. I am more worried that the guy copied my key or some communication frequency between car and key (key was always in my hand or my pocket). Can you please give some advice here? Many Thanks! |

I recently stopped using a laptop with ESYS and a cable, and picked up Bimmercode for Android with a Bluetooth ODBII adapter. I don't think I will ever go back.
Plugging in the BT adapter and firing up my tablet is a lot less hassle than dragging my laptop into the garage and plugging in a cable. Bimmercode is self explanatory for most of the things you will want to do. If you need to do more, you can use the expert mode, which can do anything you could accomplish with ESYS. If you need a coding guide, check out the stickies at the top of the DIY and Coding sub forum. BTW, Shawn Sheridan is awesome. Even though I'm not using ESYS, I appreciate the great things he has done on this forum and the personal help he has give me over the years. However |

I ordered the WiFi OBD II adapter too (apparently it is faster than the Bluetooth version and makes it easier for me as the phone also connects to the car via Bluetooth) and got Bimmercode for android. Eagerly awaiting the delivery, scheduled for Friday.

I got the TONWON ODB2 because the VGATE was temporarily not available. It is a few bucks less but more important it is identical to the VGATE one. In Bimmercode, I actually connect to VGATE WiFi and everything works like a charm. And it is really self-explanatory. I'll second the recommendation.
