As an example, if you do not plan to live far past 45 y.o. you can skip on diet, workouts, seeing doctors, taking vitamins, washing, tooth brushing, controlling/avoiding bad habits and addictions, and lots of other expensive and time consuming maintenance activities. Most modern bodies will survive to that point with just some food intake and shoes change when sole falls off.
This is all preventative maintenance, and is a different story. In your earlier post, you said you "had" to repair/replace all of that, not that you *chose* to do those things.

Yes, true, I had to. If I make a choice, it becomes the plan, and I have to execute each item in it.
Same way I have to run 2 miles in the morning, lift weights, eat no sugar and so much more, simply because i made that choice (meaning no one forced me to do that).
I hope it clears logical relation between "choice" and "had to". Peace, Peace, Peace

I'm still under warranty at 60k miles. So no tranny fluid for me to avoid voiding warranty when seals are broken. No tranny issues so far and it will be covered if there are.

For ZF 8HP Automatic Transmission, Depending on the driving style, ZF recommends a transmission oil change every 80,000 - 120,000 km (50 - 75kmi) or after eight years at the latest

Just did this recently after after the car passed 70K. I've driven it the last 25K, and flushed about 3K mi ago.

There's definitely a noticbable difference in how jerky the shifts can be, especially in sport/+. It's a 335i, and I do drive in in those modes most of the time, and the 2-4 shift have been a lot smoother, but still noticeable. The stock transmission tune is not well paired for the low end torque of the N55. It takes too long to decide if it wants to shift, up or down, on occasion.

However I hear, Xdelete and the other new tcu tunes should clean all that up.

That's not necessary. I have 122k miles on my 2014 335i N55 RWD and it's been tracked a LOT. The cooling system is pretty robust. It's pretty early to be replacing the coolant pump and thermostat at 60-70k miles. Maybe at 100-150k miles it's worth considering.

For a car that is tracked often, 100k miles is a milestone. I doubt a Toyota sedan or a Honda sedan is going to see 100k miles if I tracked the car. If the engines didn't turn into kibbles and bits by 100k miles with a lot of track miles I'd be impressed.

Are you still on the original water pump?
