Flashed it yesterday. Made a huge difference, at least for me. I had already coded 2TB but my upshifts felt laggy, now they're near instantaneous (and a lot smoother).

Unrelated to the flash,
Does anyone else notice that the Manual mode isn’t quite as smooth as Sport Auto or D? Not necessarily a bad thing.

I’ve noticed this since I got the car. Auto shifts are smoother than the manual, especially in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear. The manual shifts have some “feedback” when changing gears. I don’t really mind it but I’m wondering why that is?

Anyone else think this or is it just me?

My thought is that the Sport Auto programming shifts the car at the perfect time based on throttle input. When in manual I'm thinking human input varies widely and we're not shifting at that precise moment to make the shift as smooth as possible. There have been times when in manual I get that perfect shift and the transition is unnoticeable, other times not so much and I get that bucking between shifts.

That makes perfect sense. Thanks.

I'm running Stage 2 93 octane and just did the 8 speed transmission flash yesterday. It's a really solid and noticeable improvement, shifts are much quicker and smoother.

Wow! I don't check in for a couple days and surprise! The flash is finally released!
I'll flash it today. Hopefully I can get to the track soon and let you all know how it works there.

The software is great except that is disabled my paddle shifters. My 2013 X3 35i came from the factory with paddle shifters/sport transmission software.

I flashed it last week and been driving in D mode in comfort mostly, what I do notice and not sure if it's weird and if someone else noticed it as well, but when you're slowing down from like let's say 60mph or more, when the car is downshifting, the rpm in I believe when the car hits the 3rd gear, revs up high to like almost 2.5k-3k. I also feel like even in comfort+D, the rpm holds 200-300 revs more than stock.

I've heard XHP doesn't alter shift points in comfort...

You heard wrong...

Pull up the app and see all the updates, including the shift point editor!

I think you're confused. That's what I want, comfort and eco pro to be untouched but sport and sport + to be altered.

Did you turn off the 2TB first, or just flash over it? I did the sport trans flash through Bimmercode and just curious if I should undo that first, or just send it.

Is this out for any 8sp? I drive 50/50 comfort and sport/sport+ due to traffic. I just want to keep the smooth comfort shifts so don't really care if performance is improved in that mode.

On xHP they advertise 50% faster shifts in M mode; only on stage 3 map. I can attest that shifts are much faster in manual but only at higher RPMs.

I have the sports automatic option (2TB) and after the flash I definitely feel a huge delay on the paddles when shifting. The upshifts are also quieter/shorter upshift “burp”. I have bootmod3 stage 2 93 so the torque limit removal is huge. I like how when braking the car downshifts a bit higher. Hopefully they update the paddle response soon. Paddle shifting takes x2-x3 longer than before.

i just flashed this in my f20 m135i yesterday driven about 50miles so far with it. Im not sure if i can feel a difference ( apparently not needed on m135/235?) Shifts feel smoother and up shifts feel slightly faster ( placebo effect maybe?), downshifts are definitely not faster.

Do you have to manually reset the trans adaptive learning after flashing it or does bm3 automatically do it for you?

Ok i flashed it back to stock to compare biggest difference to me is the torque limitation in 3rd the car breaks traction now and puts more power to the road in 3rd when it does gain traction with the flash when it didn't before (odd as m135/235 shouldn't need this flash) the gearbox all round seems smoother in comfort

single downshifts seem to be the same speed maybe marginally faster
single up shifts are noticeably faster

i thought this flash was just a torque limitation removal in 3rd and 6th (according to their FB post) i definitely think they have done a lot more then that. would be nice if they released an official statement around what exactly this flash contains.
