I love it that this car looks so good with minimal stick-on styling mods. No side skirts, no front splitter, just a simple rear diffuser (essential imo).
I’m saying this from the perspective of just having slowly tweaked mine externally - side blades just added, thinking about a splitter, and still think it looks pretty ordinary.
This one looks the nuts.

Thank you - this was my aim, to create an OEM+ build that doesn’t follow the normal trend of bolting on eBay and replica parts.

I would like to put on the M Performance splitter, however it wouldn’t be compatible with the entrance to my driveway. So I chose lowering over adding a splitter as I do think that the M Sport bumper looks pretty good anyway!

Garage List
Will they sell the adapters, on their homepage?
Then it should be possible, to fit ccbrakes, to a f3x

Thanks

Its certainly been a long termer this car vs my previous car history!

I can't see me moving it on anytime soon, so decided to spend and get the rear brakes sorted!

Frank,

VBT will likely list the brackets in due course, yes.

However, the front F8x CCB / M2 2NH calipers have slightly different mounting dimensions at the mounting radius.

This means that the VBT brackets that I had made would not work with a CCB / M2 2NH front caliper. This is because they are specific brackets which were made only for use with the F10 M5 caliper.

Loving this build. I’ve always wondered about doing this conversion on my F31, however, i have original 704M wheels 6mm spacers each side. Given that it’s just a 8J rim on the front i can see the callipers fouling the wheel.

A set of genuine 437M’s might be next on my shopping list.

Thanks. I wasn`t aware of a difference between the calipers. I am running a setup simular to yours, up front now. Would love a set of ccb.
Anyway, your build is a great inspiration. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you!

Yes, you will need something along the lines of 437m to clear the brakes if you down this route!

Also, you’ll need the larger master cylinder to make them work, which you may already have if your car currently has the blue brakes?

Yeah its got the blue brakes. This might sound daft but what’s the extra grip been like with 437’s on from your previous experience? I’m xDrive so grip isn’t a major concern, however, i can only imagine that there’s some extra strain on the transmission with extra grip.

Also aware of that 1% rule which seems easy enough from other searches. In fact I think it was in this thread ha.

Mines RWD, but to be honest I did not notice any huge differences when the 437m were fitted years back - maybe at the time, but I can't recall ever feeling it was significant.

After 4 years on the car, the front brakes needed a refresh (the front pads had only worn by 2mm after all this time!!) however the discs had done 3 winters and were looking a tad tired. My OCD could not allow brand new discs on the rear and tired looking ones on the front!

The rear brakes needed to be painted in Speed Yellow - so I decided to send the fronts off too, so everything now looks brand new. The caliper refurbishment was done by Brake Caliper Refurbs in Rochdale and the calipers received new seals all round and the bleed nipples were changed to titanium, to prevent any issues in the future - also added HEL braided lines this time around.

Everything on the front end got re-fitted this weekend and the rears should be going on within the next couple of months - once the brackets have been made in steel.

BCR refurbed my rear callipers and they’ve been perfect, even withstanding very high temperatures on track without any discolouration.

High praise - thank you!

Yes, the Alex’s were a big decision, agonised on it for a while before buying, but really happy I went with them.

They are the 20-25mm version, each engine / chassis has different part numbers - based on axle weights.

The super sports (red) would be too low IMHO - mine are the blue sport versions.
