Do BMW need to do any ECU coding etc for the replacement of the valve? Just had some coding work done ID5 to 6 etc.

This type of work won’t affect that will it?

It doesn't require any work doing to it other than if there are any problems with the car that weren't before (over heating, hesistant throttle etc). The other fault codes I have relate to (in corresponding order to my earlier post and have already been done when the car went in for the EGR work): replacement of water drain grommets in passenger side of car, check and/or replace the EGR radiator and check and/or replace EGR Cooler.
I hope this has helped some of you - if you have any codes that I didn't have then it may be worth a call to your local dealer to find out what they relate to.
So am I right in thinking and the info0211056 is a marker that work has already been carried out? And the codes indicate what BMW have already done/checked?

I have the above info code plus 0011420500. So according to your post this refers to the “check and/or replace ERG cooler”

Have I understood this right?

If this is the case why am still being advised to call my local dealer?

I've been told that it's been put on the VIN incase the car has any future EGR problems for which any bmw dealer will fix for free.

If you don't have any EGR problems/symptons then you won't need to book your car for service.
Just called Dick L with same code and they have booked me in to get ERG cooler replaced this week. I do have 0011420500 too. However I see that this code has be also recently assigned to other BMW in recent week.

Just FYI mate.

Just had my EGR cooler replaced today at HJ Chester. They didnt change the EGR valve.

It felt fine on the way home although it did decide to start a regen on the 10 mile trip so the fans were still running when I turned off. Will take it for a longer run to work tomorrow

My 2014 F30 is showing 0011420500 too - has previously been in for same code. HJ Wilmslow have told me they'll need it early morning and will keep it all day. Didn't mention replacing anything, just checking exhaust gases. Anyone know if they'll give me a loaner?

Mine is going in on the 23rd. Apparently just a hardware replacement. BMW used to just "check" for a problem with the previous recall. But now they change parts no matter what. Must have struck a deal with their supplier. According to people that have had this done recently there is no software ammendments. I will report back after the 23rd.

Seems a bit shit that you have to find out for yourself if the car needs fixing. Surely BMW should be more proactive in contacting you. I only stumbled across this recall pricing up some new brake pads

I found mine when checking when the MOT is due. In the past the car has received txt messages for the recalls, but I haven't noticed anything this time. Probably BMW saving themselves money.

Just went online to re tax my F30 2016 335.

On the .gov website it stated that there was an 'Outstanding recall found'
Visited BMW and yes, I have...

There is an open safety related recall on this vehicle. Please go here to book an online appointment for your vehicle, or contact your local retailer here for more information. Recall code 0011420500.

Tried to book an online service and it wouldn't allow me (I haven't received a recall letter)

Trying to phone Stratstone Chesterfield and no one is answering! Legendary BMW customer service.

Similar to me. Emailed Barons, eventually got a call I missed 3 weeks later. Phoned back the woman had no idea why they'd called me and would get the guy to phone me back again. That was a month ago, still waiting! Not in any rush though, cars barely going anywhere!

Mine went in today and a part was replaced same day. I'm not an expert but I can see something shiny and new where the EGR is. Car had no symptoms and doesn't feel any different. Was reading elsewhere that under the original recall, the replacement part (if needed) had same weakness as the failed/failing parts and could go again. But the part has since been revised and should now last for the lifetime of the car.
