Tire replacement for 335i with 403m?

I currently have Goodyear eagle f1 asymmetric 2 run flats(225/40-19 front 255/35-19 rear) on my 19" 403ms. I'm a fan of the grip and traction that I get with them but the ride is very rough even in comfort mode. On top of that, I've had to replace 2 in the past couple months because of damage from bad roads. I want something that has similar or better performance but are actually comfortable to drive on. I'm open to any ideas (different sidewall size, different widths, non run flats, etc). I'd also like them to be cheaper than these Goodyears that run around 300 a piece right now.

Do you prefer run flat or go flat tires?

I currently have run flats and am not a fan. If go flats will be more comfortable and planted with less noise, I'm all ears.

Should have asked earlier: summer tires or all season tires?

I live in Texas so we don't really have a winter. I've had summer tires since I got the car about a year ago and haven't had any issues

i presume you are rwd? changing from runflat to go-flat should yield immediate ride comfort results and much better performance with the right tire choice. the maximum width on 8" wide is 245 and 8.5" is 255. the three staggered size combinations you can do are.

1) OEM staggered 225/40/19(26.1"), 255/35/19(26")

2) 245/35/19(25.8"), 255/35/19, possible slight reduction in turn-in response but increased front grip will reduce understeer(push) and you'll be able to carry higher speed through turns than with the narrower front tires. pics below(not my car) are oem sizes swapped to 245/35/19, 255/35/19 MPS4S.

3) 235/40/19(26.4"), 245/40/19(26.7"), compared to OEM, fronts a little wider/little taller, rears a little narrower/taller. this will offer the best ride comfort and fill the wheel well gap, however it wont handle as well as option2. compared to oem sizes the turn-in wont be as good but overall handling will still be improved. in theory, the taller(gearing) rear tire affects acceleration a tad but i don't think it's significant enough for your butt dyno to feel.

regarding tires...MPS4S is the best but it's not exactly cheap. Continental ExtrememContact Sport is a great 2nd for less(i have these myself). for even less, any of these ultra high performance summers are great as well. General G-Max RS, Falken Azenis FK510 or Firestone Firehawk Indy 500.

This is exactly the info I was looking for, thanks for the help. Even though the mps4s aren't exactly cheap, they would still save me about $120 for a set. If I'm saving any money at all while getting the benefits you mentioned, Those will be my next set. Apparently the treadwear is way better too (240 for the Goodyears and 300 for the Michelins)

It's difficult to make a mistake by selecting Michelin PS4S tires.
