The simple life

The wife and I are now in hire cars until the new ones arrive and having a "normal" car for a while you do appreciate different things.
One of them is a new focus with big tyres, "sporty" suspension etc and its great fun. Straight line performance is not its forte due to the ickle engine but it I had forgotten what fun having a chuckable car is.

I am hoping the 340 will still have a degree of this even being the touring. Obviously there will be a slight performance increase as well

The other aspect is lack of toys. The focus has a big screen and sat nav but you have to press the key fob to open the door AND manage your own lights and wipers! Its a first world problem if ever there was one but again will make me appreciate the beast when she comes (eventually) !

I know what you mean about chuckabllity... It's just fun even if the car is shite! One of the essential elements is just not being too big. No matter what you do to a car if it's got a long wheelbase it's never going to seem al that chuckable.

A couple of years ago, I delivered cars for a few months for a trade plate company. We did a lot of work for Apex Rentals, mostly fiestas and focus' and some mondeos. I loved the focus and fiestas, the engines were so revvy and even the 1.0's were fun to drive. Kind of miss belting up and down the M6.

Nav was pretty basic but it worked as did the audio, but for half the price of a BMW, the focus is a well sorted car.

I'll definitely miss my F56 for that very reason!
