If we petition bmw do you reckon we could get a v8 turbo me for the g30!?
Was behind a couple of v8s today and they sounded fantastic, and as much as I like the 340 lump it cant hold a candle to a big v8 sound.

First was a rangie supercharged v8 which was nice and grumbly and did sound good when the driver booted it and tried numerous times to show a 3 series rep mobile a clean pair of heels. He looked most sternly in the mirror as it was clear I could actually pass him let alone keep up

Still they are lovely cars and I would happily swap for a chunk of metal that can go that fast!

Next was a new rs6. Again lovely sounding and would like to have heard it boot it off. I think I would have tried to keep up just to see how much faster it would have been. Dtuk box or not, pick your battles and all that!

What makes you think BMW are not going to do anow M5? I'd have thought it was inevitable.

M5's supposedly been seen in disguised testing numerous times. There are also lots of reports of a 550i replacement, still with the 4.4 V8. I suspect the only question is what we'll get in RHD form.

Next M3/4 is going to be petrol engine and electric apparently (and four wheel drive)... Another V8? No chance.

And while we're at it how about the 3.0 quad turbo diesel into the g30 as well.

They are it has an updated version of the current v8.

I want a v8 m3!

No problem. You can code your M3 to sound like a V8, or The Starship Enterprise if you want
