CPO failure

So I recently acquired a 2015 F31 328i xDrive that is a CPO car. It was a great deal and had been sitting on the lot for a good while. I've been utterly disappointed with how they let this car go out to the lot being in the condition that I received it in.

Note: I'm a professional auto detailer and the dealership "detail" department is always lacking the skills it probably needs being it's a high end lux brand in the US.

I'm sure it varies by dealer, and possibly even by which model. They might have paid a little more attention to detail if it was a 7 series. My feeling is, if they can "get away" (as in sell the cars) without doing a full detail, they probably will. If potential buyers consistently make a stink about it and ask for a discount or to have it done pre-purchase, it might prompt them to be a little more diligent.

All that said, nice work! Looks much better!

Thanks for the compliment. I assure you that you are correct. The sales manager even told me he would be sub contracting out some detailing business my way for the things his guys just aren't capable of doing.

I am still mind boggled that even right next door at Toyota or Kia that they would never let a used car be on the lot in that condition. I've worked in the auto sales industry for a while.

I think it depends on the dealer. The detail job done in my CPO was great it felt like I was driving away in a new car. Although my interior is black so I think it would be easier for them to get away with it. Btw great before and afters

Thanks. Their detail department has issues.

Nice work! I always admire pro detailers' work ('Oakes' in Pennsylvania is insanely good).

I have a Rupes 15 (moved up from an old 1st gen Griot's PC -- why'd I wait so long?!!!). My appreciation for the patience and skills pro detailers have only goes up each time I tackle a car. The time commitment is significant.

Just finished taking my wife's new 2019 X3 M40i from dealer delivery to presentable w/some Rupes polish followed by Wolfgang Uber ceramic coating.

Going to do the same thing with my exec demo 2018 330i xdrive GT that I'm leasing (except I'm trying Optimum Gloss Coat Paint Coating). I've used cQuartz before but made the mistake of trying their UK formula (1st version) and had major problems with streaking due to the ridiculously fast flash time (which they fixed). I didn't recognize the flash was occurring so quickly. Decided to try other coatings out after that.
