Just want to start off and say thanks to the OP and others. I picked one up off eBay and it seems to be working. I like it. Now how to figure out a way to make it fit without cutting up my dash. I'm using zip ties to temporarily hold it.

Sweet comment bro!

Screen looks great. Any issues with nav or systems settings on the new screen?

Can you take a picture with your trim re-installed so we can get a better idea of the increased size?

Look great.

I see in coding list the 10.25" screen has 2 resolutions, 1280x480 (same as 8.8") and 1600x600

If the resolution is higher than 8.8", you need to code it.

This looks really intriguing... I had a 7-series as a loaner for a day a while back, and I agree the larger/higher resolution screen is really nice.

What about using a spacer on the bottom instead of cutting into the dash?

I think best solution to fit it on the dashboard is to 3D print a module to put between the new screen and 8.8" old screen place. Cutting the OEM dashboard could be a negative thing in the long term...

I would use black Sugru ( google it up!) to mould a pedestal that perfectly fills the gap between the dash and the base of the new screen. You can then glue it all together or drill it and use blind nuts to mount the screen.

Thanks for the comments. I do think height is the way to go to avoid cutting the dash. I did pick up some sugru to play with. I also coded it to the higher display. So far no issues everything works like on the 8.8" screen. Noticeable screen improvements are with the cameras. I like that the most. Albums art looks better. The rest is the same. Overall I like how it completes the dash by filling the remaining space that was left by 8.8". I would only recommend this mod if you can score one on eBay for 250 or less. I'll try to post some new pics tomorrow or Sunday.

An other F30 with 10.25 CID
I haven't installed it yet, but I think just modifying screen could fit it on the dashboard

I managed to get the screen in without touching the dash. A lot of crazy work, you'll need to carefully remove the plastic casing, then take the screen and lens apart, have a glass cutter trim the glass a little. Shave edges on the metal, and shave some plastic front & rear.

I had my screen installed by Elebest here few months ago. The plastic cover on the screen was modified without taking it apart. No glass needed to be cut whatsoever. Only dashboard cut done was on the base to accommodate the bigger mounting area on the bigger screen. As this is their expertise, I can't share more but wanted to recommend that you don't cut the dash like OP as it is not a reversible process.

No sorry, I put everything back together but if you take it apart and push it into the hole you'll know where you have to cut
