Holy ugly.

Not only that, it matches NONE of the other new releases...its almost like the 4 is the test bed of viability.

Anyone else think it might become the next LR Discovery - whereby the aftermarket makes a new bumper (as opposed to tailgate).

Looking at the lines of the lights it looks like it could be almost plug and play...

How can they get the new 5 series grilles so right, but the 4 series ones so wrong!?

Well I'm obviously the minority but I quite like it. Grill isn't too bad with a number plate on it. Certainly no worse than Audi grills.

And looks like some interesting colours for a change. Who'd have thought there would be a green option?!

Although sadly no red option.

I really don't understand how they made the 8 series such a beautiful car, and ruined the 4 series?
All they had to do, was make a mini 8 series...

I do like the rear end, and I guess the interior will be a huge step up as it'll be based on the 3 series.

Maybe with time, we'll come to like the grille. Loads of people hated the F32's grille, when it was first announced as it strayed from the traditional design. But even as a BMW fan boy, I'm struggling here hahaha

Oof, that's not pretty. Looks like another 4er won't be on my shortlist when it comes time to change.

Will wait to see some more photos before I make my judgement. Does look not too bad from the front, but the rear looks very dull. Maybe M perf parts might improve it??

I'm with you, don't think it looks that bad. The overall lines, shape, stance, all look really great to me.
The grilles are actually no bigger than many other grilles, so it really isn't the size on it's own, but rather that I think more that it's just not what people are used to. The frothing at the mouth from some folk on it is quite funny though!

When I look at some older BMWS I now find the grilles look oddly small and pinched!

Think I’m in the minority but I actually really like it..... looking forward to the GC as that is going to be on my shortlist next time I change, a couple of years away from change yet though. I actually quite like the grill and almost a shame there is a number plate...

Not sure what BMW Design are up to. Polar opposite of the G32 grille
