gear shift hesitation
hey guys - have a 2014 F31 328d xdrive m sport w/adaptive suspension and auto trans.
for the past few days, regardless of what mode i'm in or how easy or aggressive i drive the car, it's doing this hesitation / slight jerk thing before shifting gears. it's almost like it's slipping but not. if i'm in traffic and going around 15km/h or 10mph, it does the same thing repeatedly. almost like it can't decide whether or not it wants to shift. any ideas? |

This was happening to me as well on my 335. I had around 57K on the ODO and swapped the trans oil and pan. I purchased the kit from FCP Euro. Transmission is silky smooth now in all modes. Obviously Sport and Sport+ are going to be a bit less smooth, bit it's by design. I'd get your transmission oil changed (NOT FLUSHED) and go from there.

My car is at the dealership because I felt this issue. Apparently they haven't been able to replicate this yet...

They test drove and then did some diagnostics and ran it in RWD only and it was smoooooth, car never had any codes, but apparently it's not the most uncommon issue with F30/1/2 x-drives... I did a quick search afterwards and there's quite a few similar experiences.
https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1407191 - this thread tracks a lot of other experiences and the guy found a correlation with staggered factory setups, which I have. What wheel setup are you running? |
