Canyon runs in LA
Hey guys! I'm getting ready for a weekend trip down to LA and wanted some recommendations for a fun drive I can take while I'm there. Should I just do the ACH and call it a day? Or is there another drive that you think is a better alternative?
Thanks in advance!

^What aguynamedgore335 said. Head up PCH towards Malibu from LA. Turn Right when you hit Dukes. Ralmbla Pacifica is up there and also connects to Stunt and Piuma etc. Amazing twisties and views.
Also further up Malibu is Latigo Canyon. Not to be missed! Just keep in mind on a lot of these twisties are family homes and vineyards etc. Keep an eye out for kids. Also check out The Rock Store bar and grill up in the canyons for lunch. Great spot to check out bike and cars. I once saw Jay Leno on his jet turbine powered motorcycle up there! Amazing surrounding roads. There is also a killer restaurant called The Old Place. |

From PCH, Take Decker Canyon Road to Mulholland Drive to Westlake Blvd to the 101 Freeway. Or From the 101, just reverse it. Believe me you won't be disappointed. But you can always go from PCH to Decker to Mulholland, OR Yerba Buena Canyon Road to Little Sycamore Canyon to Mulholland all the way to Calabasas, then get on the 101 Freeway. If you can delay getting back to work on Monday, they'll be less crowds. Also I would think Yerba Buena Canyon would be the least crowded of any of the options.

All you mentioned are great! Love Piuma I just love Decker & Westlake Blvd, Thats the first time in 30 years of driving them I've ever heard anyone call them a cruising type drive, they're as twisty as it gets IMO. Where E. Carlisle Road & Westlake Blvd intersect to where Westlake Blvd meets Mulholland is one of the best twisty roads in Southern California IMO. What ever floats your boat, to each their own I guess. Have a great weekend! Good luck on your adventure.

Thanks for all the input everyone! Much appreciated...but dude, why's it so frickin hot down here?? It's actually making me wonder if I should do much spirited driving for fear of potential overheating.
Sunday is supposed to be SLIGHTLY cooler...might just wait until then.

I second that! If farther south. DEFINITELY worth it. The drive along the base is epic with high speed twisties, climb the mountain from the east side, stop to take in the view of the lake in the valley, lots and lots of twisties and stops at 8000 ft of elevation. Take the west side for the downhill, super technical and can be intense. Mountainside views of the drop almost all the way through. I do it once every month or every other month. If you want you can do Julian also since the mountains are next to each other.
